While riding through the Golden Forest, I encountered a peasant whose family had been taken by Mongols. I made the heartbreaking discovery that the family had already been killed, ultimately urging the grieving man to join the resistance against the invaders.

I was riding around a scenic part of the Golden Forest when I suddenly heard someone calling for help. I found a peasant who told me his wife and children were taken by Mongols, and he had no choice but to flee since he was no warrior.

Jin decided to help the man save his family, and the side quest "A Place to Call Home" began. I had to ride out to his home, only to find the entire area surrounded by a Mongol war party.

I didn't see any sign of the man's wife or children immediately, so I decided to draw the enemies out. I challenged them to a standoff and took the first soldier down with a single strike.

There was an archer positioned nearby who was being a total pain in my ass. I decided to make him my next priority, closing the distance quickly and taking him out before he could fire another arrow.

Two big, shielded Mongols carrying heavy weapons blocked my path. One of them managed to land a heavy blow on me as I approached, but I recovered and killed both of them one by one.

As one of the heavy Mongols fell, a smaller soldier charged toward me instead of fleeing. I stood my ground and taught him a final lesson as he realized too late that he was no match for a samurai.

Once the yard was clear, I rushed inside the house to check for the hostages. I searched, but I couldn't find anyone inside the rooms.

I had to look around the exterior for any sign of where they might have been taken. After surveying the area, Jin found the evidence and came to the conclusion that the family had already been killed.

The peasant returned after I slaughtered the Mongols, and Jin had to deliver the news of his family's fate.

The man broke down in grief, but Jin suggested him to resist the invaders and help others in need so their deaths wouldn't be in vain.

The combat sequence you described was amazing. You used the standoff skill perfectly, taking down the archer and shielded Mongols at the same time.
The emotional part of this quest came through really well. The moment when Jin Sakai had to deliver the bad news felt heartbreaking.
I noticed how you handled the heavy shielded Mongols. Even after taking a hit, staying focused to take them down one by one shows great combat discipline in the middle of a fight.
The ending message about joining the resistance added depth. It showed that Jin tries to give people a reason to keep fighting.
The archers in this game are definitely a priority. If you leave them alone for too long, they just pick away at your health while you're trying to deal with the heavy hitters. So, that's a good strategy taking them down first.
