I accidentally triggered an ambush at Fort Nakayama by shooting a beehive prematurely. After clearing the outer defenses and taking down a Mongol leader to save the Sensei, I successfully mastered the Wind Stance to counter future threats.

The Sensei asked me to wait for his command before striking, but I shot the beehive by mistake before his command. The bees started stinging the Mongol patrols.

The Mongols were searching for us and almost saw our position in the tall grass. I shot some flammable barrels and burned some of the enemies, which alerted the whole fort to our presence and turned the stealth mission into an all-out assault.

The remaining Mongols started shooting us with arrows and we were shooting back from the hillside. The sky was filled with the hiss of flying shafts as I tried to pick off their archers before they could find their range on the Sensei.

Then I noticed there were more of them from the fort on the other side who were shooting us with arrows. I had to take care of them quickly to silence the reinforcements before they pinned us down.

When the archers were taken care of, we headed towards the fort and I noticed there was this fat man coming towards me. I took him down with throwing knives, the blades finding the gaps in his heavy armor before he could swing his massive weapon on me.

Then there came a Mongol leader to fight me and when I was dodging his attacks, some archers from the fort were shooting at us. All of us, including the enemies, started dodging the arrows as the Mongol's own men began firing indiscriminately into the melee.

The Mongol leader went inside the fort in the meantime to regroup, so I was fighting the leftover soldier outside. I parried his strike and countered with a lethal blow, clearing the path to the main gate while the Sensei provided cover.

As an archer from the fort tower kept shooting at me, I took cover behind a wooden barricade and then shot him back.

I went back to the entrance of the fort from where I took down another Mongol with throwing knives. Suddenly, there came a soldier outside whom I stabbed my sword in his chest, ending his life before he could raise a cry for help.

Then I noticed the Mongol leader was fighting the Sensei, so I jumped on him and I took care of him real fast. With this leader killed, I have learned the Wind Stance, gaining the knowledge to effectively break the guard of spear-wielding enemies.

Ending the post with learning Wind Stance seemed very fitting. After everything that went wrong and had to be adapted to, gaining a new stance should feel like growth rather than just a reward. The whole post reflected learning through failure, adjustment, and perseverance.

The accidental beehive shot was a great turning point in the story.

Yeah, it really feel like growth. Thanks for your nice comment.
