To free the fort, I attempted to assassinate the captain via a window after Senu distracted a guard. The captain survived multiple strikes, forcing me to leap into a lake twice and I used arrows from a tower to chip away at the powerful enemy's health.
I had to kill the captain after claiming that treasure to free this fort from the enemies for good. And I noticed the captain went inside a private chamber to take rest after didn't find me during his standard patrol around the ramparts.
There was this guard on my way who would notice me for sure if I crossed the courtyard. So I sent Senu to distract him while I ran toward my target and found him resting inside the chamber, completely unaware.
I went inside through that open window and I tried to assassinate him with a hidden blade strike from behind. Though I could only try some damage on him due to his heavy armor, and then I escaped through the same open window.
When the captain kept looking around for me, when only he knew about my presence there, the rest of the fort remained quiet. I was trying to stay close to him as I decided to try more damage on him like this way.
I noticed the captain kept looking around for me, so I was also trying to stay close to him. And I didn't want to lose any opportunity to try and attack, do some damage from the high ledges.
But he suddenly noticed me as I was right below that wall, and he climbed up on the wall with terrifying speed. And as he was about to strike me real hard with his sword, I jumped off that height toward the lake below.
I somehow escaped the wrath of that captain by using the deep water to break my fall, but he still tried to attack me while I was on the lake. So I had to dive under the water for a moment, till he went back.
Then I climbed back up, and when I noticed the captain was climbing up on the tower from where I collected the treasure earlier, I started shooting him with arrows to weaken his health from a safe distance.
The captain climbed down and rushed to my spot, but I hid. And then I tried to take him down again, but he was too strong, so I had to escape again by jumping from that tower into the lake.

Using Senu to distract the courtyard guard was a cool move. I tried something like this the other day with Enkidu but my bird is not that smart as Senu. BTW, I hope you took down that captain at last.
Tracking the captain into his private chamber was a great setup. It is a shame his heavy armor completely absorbed the initial assassination attempt, and turned a stealth mission into a brutal survival fight.
Using arrows from the tower to slowly chip away at his health was a smart strategy. The mix of stealth, ranged combat, and environmental escapes made this encounter feel more dynamic than a normal mission.
The captain climbing the walls so quickly must have been terrifying in the moment. That sudden aggression completely changed the pace from stealth infiltration to intense pursuit.
