My Favorite Maps in theHunter: Call of the Wild (in Pictures!)

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Time to share some shots from one of my favourite simulator games with realistic graphics and a focus on realism at its core. I was happy to find such a hunting game, which had a slight learning curve at the start, but it was all worth it because of how many memorable moments I had in this game. This post is not about such moments but about showcasing its beauty to you.

As you might have guessed, I am talking about theHunter: Call of the Wild. It has a lot of unique maps with cool locations based on real locations. I will start with the snow maps. There are a couple of them in this game.

Medved-Taiga was one of the first maps that made me fall in love with the beauty of this game. I loved to hunt in these cold conditions, or sometimes being hunted by a pack of hungry wolves. xD

The frozen lakes in this place were perfect for finding easy prey, and their darker fur made them easily visible in the white background of this map. Even the grass and leaves on trees are covered in snow unless there is bright sun out.

There are some maps that I don't own, yet I play in them once in a while from the multiplayer section of the game. One of the beautiful ones is the New England Mountains. From the snow-covered white leaves to the bright orange and red hues of this autumn season is a stark change.

A lot of players love these maps, which have this fall season vibe. Within the same map, this pattern can change as well.

I love the flowers in this map. They seem to be spread all over the place in this reserve (at least where I have explored so far).

Hunting here is not that enjoyable for me because of the lack of animal variety and their population, especially the big ones. But that is not even remotely true for Vurhongha Savvah, a reserve famous for easy access to a lot of interesting varieties of animals to hunt in mostly plains and easy conditions.

Sunrises and sunsets in these plains are the best times for me to hunt here. However, if I am looking to hunt the king of the jungle, the lion, then I change those timings to the afternoon, which is their drinking time and an easier time to hunt them without getting hunted.

The starter map of Layton Lakes is both beautiful and presents a fair challenge to newcomers. It was a tough time learning about this game in this reserve, but the views were worth it and kept me going despite some hiccups here and there.

As the name suggests, there are a lot of lakes in this reserve. Each beautiful than the last one. The long reeds on the edges are a perfect hiding spot for both me and the animals. It becomes a test of patience when you are hunting here.

There are many man-made structures and points of interest in these reserves, which reward the exploration a bit, but I would like them to have a lot more such places. A unique bridge, a hidden cave or a campsite with a story element adds a lot of interest in a specific map. Some players love it while others find it a bit distracting. I love these moments of little distraction.

I just realised that I didn't talk about the animals in these reserves. These animals are the main attraction, as you might expect from a hunting game. The choice of playing one map over the other is mostly based on which animal you want to hunt on that specific day. While some, like the Black Bear, are found in multiple reserves, there are some which are unique to one reserve only.

I will leave you with this last shot of a lonely tree standing under an overcast sky in a foggy environment. I love to capture such trees in both video games and in real life.

Let me know your thoughts about these shots and which one is your favourite among them.

Thanks for reading...

Until next shot...

The scenery in this game is stunning! I've been tempted to play it a couple of times; maybe I should definitely give it a shot. The picture of New England Mountains is easily my favorite, even though the Layton Lakes ones are great too
