Now they're stuck in there having a torch in hand and countless rats were waiting round them to eat them alive, can I save them from the plague?
All these time, Amicia kept escaping. She escaped her home, she escaped a strange village with full of crazy peoples who tried to kill them but she didn't know the real threat to escape from was yet to find and last they found the plague.
Father Thomas already knew about the rat plague but still he left the torch in Amicia's hand and he died trying to help them and now all she had was the torch and the little brother who was also scared. But the good thing is that these rats doesn't attack you when you have fire with or around you.
That's Father Thomas now or what's left of him. Thousands of hungry/zombie rats ate the man alive and finished almost the whole meat of the body. These types of photos are the reason of my warning in the title though they don't look too real to me.
Now, holding the torch, I was walking forwards and the rats were moving following the fire. There was a certain radius of the fire where the rats didn't stay, not even for a moment and their noise was scary.
Now that should be Brother Morel whom Father Thomas was calling out right before he was eaten alive and I see this man was already gone though surprisingly, the rats didn't eat the other parts of him.
Now that we reached this place and had to jump to the other side, I had to keep the torch in a stand there before coming to this side and I noticed the rats were not coming this side as there was the torch and its sad that I can't carry the torch anymore.
After running for sometimes, we noticed thousands of rats broke a part of a wall and tried to get to us and I found some sticks there and there was a fire source as well so I lit it and we kept moving forward carrying it though its not a permanent torch. It'd get burned soon so we had to be fast.
Then we reached this place full of skeletons and they were probably servants of attendants of the church whom were eaten alive by the rats. And I had to shoot down a fire source on the ground to move along.
Now there we climbed the ladder and I released that fire source using sling and it was moving from one side to another side so we had to move along with it as the rats gets scared of the fire.
Then we reached this room where we had to walk on the tables as the floor was flooded with those rats though I didn't understand why rats couldn't just climb on the tables and get us. Shouldn't we think like this when we play?
Now reaching this point, I couldn't go to the other side but Hugo could as there was a tiny hole so we move along when Hugo was carrying the torch that he found on the other side and the flame was keeping the rats away from Amicia.
And we found this hole which could be used to hand the torch over to Amicia and Hugo was asked to go to the other room using that hole you can see above though I thought it was a foolish concept at this part that the kid would have to go alone in this dangerous moment.
I had to take another way and get to Hugo but I was worried about the kid and he even started to scream when I was going towards him but the kid was smart enough to save his back.
Now we had to keep moving carrying the torch and suddenly we found these nests made by the rats with countless skeletons and they were throughout this whole path.
At last we found light and leaving the torch behind, we ran outside to save our backs when countless rats tried to get us from everywhere but they didn't follow us to light. So now I understand that its not just flame, they're harmless in the sun light as well so daytime should be risk free in terms of getting away from these rats.
Escaping death, they were taking deep breaths and Amicia started adorning her little brother who was her only companion in these dark times.

Oof man, some of these photos were really disturbing. I know that scene. The one with the rats running away from the fire. It was an epic one.
Hmmm, so you found them disturbing as well. Honestly I was totally okay with it for being a fan of Final Destination or similar things but still I kept the warning in the title cause someone might find them disturbing and here you are.
When I was walking around holding the fire and the rats were running away, it felt epic for real.

It is quite interesting that they use fire to scare away the rats. If we look at it in another way, they employ the same logic that is used to scare away the wolves. It seems like the game is showing you how dangerous that rat horde is.
The main concept is about these rat hordes, I guess and they fear only fire and probably direct sunlight as well.
