Jacob lost control as his implant malfunctioned, triggering violent visions and a catastrophic drone attack that wiped out his squad. Though reinforcements destroyed the machine, Jacob's brain was beyond saving. On direct orders, the implant was extracted, killing him to preserve the technology.
As the device took full control of Jacob, he began experiencing a vivid flashback, revisiting the memories shown at the start of this journey.
However, the situation turned critical when his device began to malfunction after his run through the cave. Deep within the cavern, he stumbled upon something mysterious that seemed to trigger a total system failure in his hardware.
Jacob's behavior became increasingly erratic, putting the surrounding soldiers on high alert. Just as they prepared to restrain him, Jacob suddenly began to float off the ground, defying gravity.
This supernatural display completely distracted the guards, leaving them vulnerable and confused by the strange phenomena occurring right before their eyes.
The tension snapped when the malfunctioned drone came out of the cave, and opened fire on every soldier, so the soldiers had to fight back. Jacob was suffering a severe seizure at the same time.
The drone's assault was ruthless. It swept through the squad, taking down almost everyone before they could even find cover. One lone soldier managed to dive behind a big stone, but the drone swiveled back for him with terrifying speed.
He opened fire in a desperate bid for survival, but his bullets barely dented the machine's hull.
It became clear that the drone was far too powerful against those soldiers. Without a moment of hesitation, the machine locked onto the final soldier and shot him down. The area fell silent with the fallen who had been caught in the crossfire.
The scene shifted as reinforcements finally arrived to neutralize the threat. They managed to wreck the drone, and a grim cleanup operation began. Soldiers were seen carrying away the dead bodies.
Even in its wrecked state, the drone was still functioning on some level. Its camera lens glowed with a faint light as it continued scanning the pupils of the dead.
A field surgeon examined Jacob and noted that while his brain tissue was severely damaged, the experimental implant remained perfectly intact.
Despite the hope for medical recovery, an officer named Lemrie gave a cold, direct order to remove the device, knowing that since it was still connected to Jacob's temporal lobe, the removal would lead to his certain death.
The surgeon had no choice but to follow the direct order. He prepared his medical tools with a heavy heart. I then watched as the procedure began, carefully extracting the glowing implant from Jacob's neck, effectively ending his life to secure the technology.
