I didn't believe it the first time when I heard that Forbidden West was coming to the PC. I mean, it makes sense since almost every PS4/PS5 titles have been releasing on the platform for awhile now. Sony is no longer titled to keep their games exclusively either.
That being said, Nixxes sure did a great job once again. As they have done for Ratchet N Clank, it runs solid most of the time. Visually, it is so pristine in HDR, with vivid color range, and crazy detailing. Though, I am not a fan of the photomode. The RE4R one is downright feature rich, and lets me create the best shots, feels more accessible.
But this is a different beast, it's an open-world game with objects rendered in the background real-time. I played the original back in 2018 when I had my PS4, it showed almost everything that console could achieve. Time to take a look at how the new one has come along.
Can't believe they allowed photomode during a cutscene, this is a beautiful shot of the Canyons in post-apocalypse Utah somewhere near Mother's Heart. Keep up, because there's more like this.

Aloy in her dream state. Feeling even more lost about her place in this world, now that she learned that she came from Elisabet Sobeck. Part of this sort of outlines the bizarre relationship Aloy has with both Gaia, and her maker. Who knows, there might an interesting development coming from this.
Varl and her investigate the mysterious plague and how far out it has spread. This area has a lot mixed in, with old decrepit structures of prior civilization, scrapped cars, lush greenery, one of the other interesting things to point out is the draw distance here, outreaches even to river beds, and tall buildings.
In the last game, defeating HADES has led to GAIA being destroyed, and because of that, the biosphere created by her is now falling apart. A new plague called the Red Blight is spreading, killing flora, and wild life that comes into contact with it. It does also add up as good scenery shots.
Ah, I miss these guys. The Burrowers make a return. The game finally does good with bringing back the familiar machines as target practice. Gameplay seems more fine tuned than before.
Funny guy who used to be CEO for a big aerospace company shows up, talks big about his company called Far Zenith. This was probably the reception area before civilization got wiped out. The leftovers of big Silicon Valley companies, overvalued no thanks to shareholders spending.
This Grand Canyon looking mountain top, also, I made Aloy jump over the window spot. But there obviously was an invincible wall, so couldn't see more and get around the area.
Yeah, that Cobra type machine ahead is the one Aloy is chasing. Not like I'm going to fight it later on, am I?
Aloy and Varl are coming closer to the backup of GAIA, hoping to restore things back in order. But more clues have shown that HADES might not be dead after all. All too familiar feeling, sipped in suspense, foreshadowing just about the state of the world, and where Aloy needs to go in order to make things right. Her journey has pretty much begun.
So, there were a group of Cobra machines, and they kept circling around an artifact. Aloy has decided to take out fragile points of the structures to drop it on them. Last one involving cable latches.
Hah, I knew it. One survived, and he was a tough MF, like outside of glitching at times. This guy swung his tail, spew acid, and would head butt, even breaking the boulders. Had two kinds of weapons, my arrow, and the frostballs throwing about. Actually, frost does a good job stunning it.
God, I hate this guy even more now. But what was I expecting? Of course, this thing was a Red Herring.

What's is a cutscene? Are you saying you can use photo mode in the cinematic scenes? This game was always in my bucket list though I didn't like the first one after playing that for some days but I guess this one is fat better than the previous installment. And now that its released for windows, I gotta taste it.

The graphics are quite sharp and beautiful. I liked the first image that you took from the cutscene. Normally games don't allow any activity while these cutscenes are running. Good thing you were able to use the photo mode. Thanks for sharing.
