We don't need ... no Education

You can't beat a bit of Pink Floyd at times and we shall how this song relates to this post further done the line, once I take the brick out of the wall!

This is an article written for the #augustinleo writing prompt series for the Day 14 prompt ....

Day 14! The community #humanitas invites us to reflect about education.

Whose responsibility is it? School, parents or society?

Are the majority of modern schools preparing their students for the real world or are they obsolete?

What do you think education now should look like?

Having been an educator this prompt appeals to me!

Whose responsibility is it? School, parents or society?

There are no clear cut answers here, not is it solely the responsibility of one of the three...

I could really throw the cat amongst the pigeons by saying it could be argued it is the responsibility of society that some people should not be allowed to breed!

However that is not a debate for today...

What we do need is ....

Parents should be taught parenting!!!

Part of the problem is parents expect to throw their children into school and it is the school's job to teach those children....

No no no ... Education starts in the home ... What about the years before kids go to school? Those are the years that shape a child. If parents neglect the child then what the hell do you expect the school to do?

Monkey see Monkey do ....

So kids who see their parents arguing and even fighting infront to them areoften prone to disruptive behaviour at school...

Thank you incompetent parents ....!

Society should provide the tools to educate children. By tools I generally mean schools complete with teachers and suitable curriculum.

I will go into the curriculum later as it forms an answer to another question.

If we as parents or grandparents or guardians start out with teaching our children rights and wrongs and god forbid disciplining them before they get to school, then schools will be in a much much better position to actually impart knowledge into our children.

It's a fluffing win-win!!!

But remember lions, education should be fun, when things are fun, we pay attention, we learn, don't you think?

As far as I am concerned, it is not upto schools to make up for the gaps in childcare that some parents are guilty of.

Are the majority of modern schools preparing their students for the real world or are they obsolete?

Let's kick off with the post title in musical format ....

Pink Floyd ~ Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2 (The Wall)

What a kick I got just now rewatching this after many many years.

The school boy around the 1 minute 20 second was me at school and the teacher my Latin teacher .... oh what a bastard he was....

The song was a protest song about a protest song against corporal punishment and rigid and abusive schooling...

The lyrics ....

We don't need no education"
"We don't need no thought control."

It is us as adults who are being manipulated now!

But I think we flipped, we went from far too rigid and abuse to far too woke.

Who the heck would be a teacher nowadays?

Kids have no respect, again partly stemming from shite parenting... and purtheir teachers through hell.

Teachers can't say boo without being suspended fired or even jailed.

!8 year old kids adults pummeling hells bells out of a female teacher ... Aww poor boy. ... Teacher must have provoked him etc etc.

Get To Fluff

I have changed my mind!

Whilst writing this post I have changed my answer to this question....

I was going to say school methods are obsolete when it comes to preparing children for the real world.

But they aren't obsolete at all....

I am sorry but the Real World has become so fluffing woke that schools by default due to society's law are churning out young adults who are ideally suited for this world.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my response to the prompt.
