Drone View Providence, RI

in Drone3 years ago

Here is some pics and video I took while on recent trip to Providence, Rhode Island. Started from a building terrace downtown. Interesting views for sure. My second time visiting, first time flying there.

This is the "Rhode Island State House". It was built in 1891. I didn't realize it at the time, but if you look closely at the top, there is a 11 foot tall gold covered bronze statue of "The Independent Man". I'll have to get some closer shots next time I visit. Apparently the dome here is the 4th largest self-supported marble dome in the world. Wikipedia and other links show some pretty impressive Rotunda ceiling art and other interesting interior designs.

Here is a view that includes the Providence River in the background. It would have been an interesting shot to zoom in from here on the video. Maybe next time.

Finally, here is the video. I'm still amazed how stable. There was actually 20 mph winds that day, gusting even higher. I was almost hesitant to fly, but this Mavic 3 handled it like it wasn't even there except one large gust raised it a couple feet until it corrected itself back.
