The "unknown" Knife

in Knives6 years ago (edited)

Hello, hardware enthusiasts!

Today, I want to show you a totally different knife, compared to the one of my previous post.

Today's knife is a... ehm... well... I don't quiete know what knife it is. So may be I'm just in the right place here, and some knife expert can enlighten me what this actually is:

mini messer.jpg

It is made entirely of damascus steel (except the wood grip of course, that is rose wood I think) and very solid. The blade is 5 mm strong and full tang. Yet it is surprisingly short: 11 cm from the tip to the grip (9 cm sharp edge), but with a full size (12 cm) grip.
The sheath was made by @irrer-ivan by the way.

I can only guess the purpose of this design. May be some hunting or fishing use? But I don't hunt or fish, I just bought it because it looks kinda cool.

Well, I hope you found this interesting, and may be someone even knows more about this knife shape.

More next time, your's
