Aries; 2 Stallions Fighting For Mating Rights In The Spring; 18" x 24" Acrylic and Collage on Wood, To benefit Great Escape Mustangs
Here's a close up of the sun... I never know how to do the sun so that it truly looks like the sun - but this is my experience of the spring sun in the high desert where I live...and there are wild mustangs in Colorado in the Sand Wash Basin near Steamboat Springs, and there is a BLM Round-up there, unfortunately.
Here's the whole sky including the constellation of Aries and this time I am choosing to put the ram there silhouetted because we do have Big Horn Sheep here in Colorado... and so this doubles as Aries without the symbol of Aries. I don't think I am going to put that in this painting.
Here I used a little shape of flames between the 2 horses to indicate that their fight is causing the fire - and I used a red glaze between them to create the illusion of heat with a blue glaze behind them to indicate that it is cool around them. I am very surprised that I finished this painting before the Full Moon on April 13. More will be revealed about that...I already know what Taurus is going to be too - and will begin in the New Moon, April 27th.
