Hace algún tiempo, un amigo y compañero ilustrador me regaló un fanart de Gersiel. Era un crossover con uno de los personajes de su comic Giledensia: Cobra.
Me gustó mucho ver su interpretación de Gersiel. Siempre es maravilloso ver cómo otros artistas interpretan a nuestros OCs, así que fue una grata sorpresa cuando lo recibí.
En ese momento, pensé que quería hacer una versión de Cobra, sin embargo, entre una y otra cosa se me iba pasando en la lista de pendientes.
Hasta que me lo puse como meta: después que termine las ilustraciones para el Evento del Territorio de Creadores de Lords Mobile, haré la ilustración de Cobra.
Algo que tengo como filosofía de trabajo en cuanto al diseño de personajes es: trata los OCs de los demás como tratarías a tus propios OCs.
Un personaje para un artista es como un hijo: uno lo ve nacer en el papel, lo ve en los primeros intentos de dibujarlo desde diferentes ángulos como a un niño aprendiendo a caminar, hasta que va creciendo poco a poco y termina evolucionando, muchas veces alejado del diseño original.
Así que estudié las formas de su rostro, cabello y traje para adaptarlo a mi estilo de anime.
Me encanta dibujar personajes con cabello largo por lo que fue una de las partes a la que le puse mayor atención. Yo pienso que el cabello habla mucho de la personalidad del personaje y esto hace que le dedique más tiempo.
Ya que la historia está ambientada en el espacio con temática alienígena, elegí uno de los fondos de Clip Studio que pudiera dar esa sensación de otro ambiente que combinara la tecnología con la naturaleza. Encontré uno de un río y jugué un poco con el ángulo y la posición de la ilustración para que combinara con Cobra.
Y este fue el resultado final:
Mi amigo ha estado trabajando muy duro con su historia. Ha hecho grandes avances en su estilo de dibujo y le ha dedicado mayor atención a los paisajes de su comic. Realmente tiene pasión por lo que hace.

Some time ago, a friend and fellow illustrator gave me a fanart of Gersiel. It was a crossover with one of the characters from his comic Giledensia: Cobra.
I really liked seeing his interpretation of Gersiel. It's always wonderful to see how other artists interpret our OCs, so it was a pleasant surprise when I received it.
At that moment, I thought about making a version of Cobra, however, between one thing and another, it kept slipping down the to-do list.
Until I set it as a goal: after finishing the illustrations for the Lords Mobile Creator's Turf Event, I will make the illustration of Cobra.
Something I have as a work philosophy regarding character design is: treat others' OCs as you would treat your own OCs.
A character for an artist is like a child: you see it being born on paper, you see it in the first attempts to draw it from different angles like a child learning to walk, until it grows little by little and ends up evolving, often far from the original design.
So I studied the shapes of his face, hair, and suit to adapt it to my anime style.
I love drawing characters with long hair, so it was one of the parts I paid the most attention to. I think that hair speaks a lot about the character's personality, and this makes me dedicate more time to it.
Since the story is set in space with an alien theme, I chose one of the backgrounds from Clip Studio that could give that feeling of another environment that combined technology with nature. I found one of a river and played a little with the angle and position of the illustration to match Cobra.
And this was the final result:
My friend has been working very hard on his story. He has made great strides in his drawing style and has paid more attention to the landscapes of his comic. He really has a passion for what he does.
