Cuando me empecé a interesar por el rock japonés (JRock), uno de los géneros que me cautivó fue el Visual Kei.
No sólo la música es realmente interesante, sino que las propuestas visuales de las diferentes bandas son muy llamativas.
Algunas bandas tienen un toque de Black Metal, otras simplemente Heavy Metal, hay otras que combinan diferentes estilos, por lo que la variedad es grande tanto en estilo visual como musical.
Una de mis bandas preferidas ha sido desde el inicio Versailles. Ellos tienen una mezcla de Metal Sinfónico lo cual es realmente exquisito.
Su presentación visual no queda atrás. Los trajes al estilo victoriano están confeccionados de manera muy delicada y grácil, esto unido a un maquillaje impecable y un peinado que resalta la personalidad de cada uno de los personajes que interpretan, hacen que sea todo un espectáculo a la vista.
En escena es increíble lo bien sincronizados que son y cómo el sonido en vivo no tiene nada que envidiarle al del estudio. Tuve la oportunidad de verlos en vivo y fue una de las mejores experiencias que he vivido.
Así que hice un retrato de uno de mis guitarristas preferidos: Teru. Él es el segundo guitarrista de la banda. Aparte de ser excelente como guitarrista, Teru además es diseñador e ilustrador. Lo admiro tanto como guitarrista como en su faceta de ilustrador. Siempre es un ejemplo para mí cuando necesito motivación. ¡Me encantaría alcanzar el nivel de sus trabajos!
No suelo dibujar retratos con frecuencia, ya que tengo más la inclinación hacia crear cosas nuevas en lugar de replicar lo existente, sin embargo, practico retratos de vez en cuando para aprender sobre anatomía y prestar atención a las luces y sombras.
Para las ropas, no usé brochas con diseños. Me gusta más interpretarlo, así que llevó algo de tiempo realizar todos los detalles de su traje.

When I started getting interested in Japanese rock (JRock), one of the genres that captivated me was Visual Kei.

Some bands have a touch of Black Metal, others simply Heavy Metal, and there are others that combine different styles, so the variety is large both in visual and musical style.
One of my favorite bands has been Versailles from the beginning. They have a mix of Symphonic Metal which is truly exquisite.
Their visual presentation is equally impressive. The Victorian-style costumes are crafted very delicately and gracefully, combined with impeccable makeup and hairstyles that highlight the personality of each of the characters they portray, making it a spectacle to behold.
On stage, it's incredible how well-synchronized they are and how the live sound is nothing to envy compared to the studio. I had the opportunity to see them live and it was one of the best experiences I've had.
So I made a portrait of one of my favorite guitarists: Teru. He is the second guitarist of the band. Apart from being excellent as a guitarist, Teru is also a designer and illustrator. I admire him both as a guitarist and in his role as an illustrator. He is always an example for me when I need motivation. I would love to reach the level of his work!
I don't usually draw portraits often, as I am more inclined to create new things rather than replicate existing ones. However, I practice portraits from time to time to learn about anatomy and pay attention to lights and shadows.
For the clothes, I didn't use brushes with designs. I prefer to interpret it, so it took some time to capture all the details of his costume.

Cuando practico retratos, me gusta hacerlos casi siempre en blanco y negro para concentrarme en la iluminación y volumen, así me ayuda a aprender nuevas formas de expresarlo y ponerlo en práctica en mis ilustraciones ☺️
