Here's my response to this week's prompt. My TV remote and i are tight friends, but it often goes missing at the most unexpected times. Here's me addressing it for all the frustration and heartbreak...
Dear TV Remote,
I appreciate the fact that you made life more enjoyable for me in my younger years and you still do so now. You are the key that unlocks the portal to endless entertainment and keeps me happy for hours on end.
Because of you, I am able to watch all my favourite wrestling stars, sports stars every blessed day. I am able to catch news of events around the world. By your permission I view entertaining TV shows, like AGT, cooking competitions, nature and wildlife shows, etc. I never had a dull moment when you were around, unless there was a power outage, or I wasn't interested in sitting to watch TV or such.
You've often left your place beside the TV at the most unexpected times. Like a time i wanted to catch a live Champions League match, but you were no where to be found. I assumed you went on vacation as you returned to your place a few hours later. Or maybe you plotted with my siblings to deny me my late night entertainment. Don't tell me they misplaced you against your will. You plotted with them. I know because you didnt apologize when you returned. See?
We're inseparable friends and we will continue to be, just don't let me down again. You are mine and I'm yours. Oh sorry for using that line, I forgot were not spouses, you're are an inanimate object anyway. But there's a strong bond between us two.
With you now, I can catch non-stop entertainment, news events, live football matches, or sports events in general. You're my go-to when my spirits are down, because you are the key that unlocked the portal of endless entertainment. I would sit tor hours, laughing my sorrows off.
Maybe I should ignore your miscreant act of disapperance when i need you most because of how useful you've been to me. Or maybe not.
A day will come when I won't be able to hold you in my palms or operate you by myself. My grandchildren or my children would be doing that then. I hope we continue to be great friends even when that time comes.
P.S: Please don't get angry that I called you an inanimate object. You may not be a human, but you provide me with joys most humans can't.
Always your friend,
Aloysius Mbaba.
What a lovely letter to your remote. I'm sure after reading, it won't play games with you anymore.... lol 😆
I hope so. Thanks for reading and for your support.
