But the decisions made during that moment can stick to your shirt like a stain that never wants to leave after applying bleach.

Having a strong emotion gives me pause. Why am I feeling angry, sad, worried, etc? Examining those emotions and understanding where they might be coming from turns potential actions from "in the moment" to pausing to consider actions...or inaction.

Sometimes deciding not to decide is absolutely the right action no matter how I feel.

That pause to question your emotions is what turns reactions into choices. And yes I agree, sometimes the smartest move is restraint, letting clarity come before action.
