If Shadows Could Talk

What will your shadow say about you being awake this late?

Funny how it was past 2 am the time I was reading this week's prompt. If my shadow could talk, what would it say about my midnight adventures? It really set my imagination wild hehe.

I think first my shadow will wonder how I have come from a sleepy 🥱 head to a night crawler. I bet it never see this coming, I don't myself. It may wish we could go back to the time we used to sleep from 9 pm to 6 am. Then it might call my mom to tell her, what has become of my night routine hehe.

I picture my shadow saying, "Hello ma'am, she no longer follows your night rule, she now sleeps at will, most of the time so late at night, and I have no choice than to just sit quietly beside her until she is done with whatever it's she always does with her phone. Ma, can you imagine your daughter now sleeping around 3 am?" some nights, she spent it doing her beads works, like who bead at night? Well, maybe someone that loves beads works.

Hmmm, if my shadow could talk I think it might put me in a hot soup with my mother. Where I will have to explain what in seven heaven keeps me up at night. So thank goodness, it's only choice is to watch me do my things.

I bet my shadow most times will wish I could fall asleep so that it could follow suit, oh poor shadow, don't worry enjoy this my now normal way of sleeping, that is why you are my shadow right, to always be where I'm, and always do anything I do. Even when no one is with me, you are always by my side and I cherish you for that.

If only you can take some refreshments, or snacks I can entertain you every night that I keep up. But then you can't even eat unless I do.

On A Second Thought

On second thought, I don't think my shadow will be such a snitchy queen, I think it might just be much of a night owl as much as myself. Enjoying the stillness and quietness of the night. All those sweet music we enjoy together when everyone else has gone to the land of the dreams, the silent hours when we can hear our own hearts beating that inspire our creativity. I think my shadow is a gentle happy night owl just like me, who enjoys a quiet night and is very happy for every single moment we share.

I think my shadow is happy watching me keep up at night, knowing that I'm not doing it out of discomfort but I'm up mostly at night doing the things I love and making the best out of myself.
