Greetings to all Hivegamers, Splinterlands players and my community in Midnight Letters! I'm writing this post around midnight in our country (UTC+08:00). The topic for the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge is about Battlefield Breakthroughs. Just like my post before, this is about new battlefield combos with the new cards I bought from the shop. It's like trying new openings in chess to play with. The games are new with more cards to play with.
Last week, my new cards were commons. I purchased rare reward chests right after the season ended and I have new cards to try.

Last week I posted about Water and Life and used new common reward cards. This time, I'll post games where I used the new rare cards.

Fire Element

The Fire element has new magic cards. Magic is easy to use and these are better because they come with armor. Magic units are often weak so having an armor gives them defense from attacks.

The team I used in the game had Drybone Megalodon followed by two magic cards. Finally, Portly Cannoneer completed the team. I only had four units because the game was low mana.
Drybone Megalodon was in first position. He has the flank skill so I could play another melee unit but the mana was low. I decided to use magic instead.
Withered Old Sage is a rare card that has two magic attacks, a shield, two life and two speed.
Cullborn Revenant is a common card that has two magic attacks, a shield, two life and two speed. At level one, it has the same stats as the rare card, Withered Old Sage. In addition, it has snipe skill and has less mana than the rare card. I'm not sure why the common card is better than the rare.
Portly Cannoneer is a common card with one ranged damage. It has inspire skill that adds to melee attacks of its team mates.
My opponent also used Fire element but his cards are all Frontier while mine was a mix of Rebellion and Conclave Arcana. My opponent had a unit with opportunity skill and could have killed my magic units but they had shields which helped in defense.

Death Element

In the Death element, I have a new rare card, Gravebrand Warlock, that comes with three magic attack. It's attack is very strong at level one.

The team I used was a combination of frontier, new reward cards, Conclave Arcana core set and Rebellion cards.
Ironwing Juggernaut is a three mana common card. It has two attack and three shield, heart and speed. It's a good low mana card but it has Weary skill.
Gravebrand Warlock is a rare eight mana card. It has three magic attacks, five heart and one speed. It has the highest attack in my team and I like this card a lot. Only problem would be its high mana of eight.
Arachne Weaver has two magic attacks and can heal the team.
Silverleaf Warlock was one of the cards I bought from the market. It has two magic attacks, four hearts and three speed.
Broken Earth Thug is a three mana card with one attack, three heart and two speed.
My opponent had frontier cards again. It's a good team in the frontier but against Conclave Arcana and Rebellion sets they are weaker. His best unit was Vengeful Monk. My units had enough hearts to survive against its attacks and I had a healer to bring their hearts back up.
