I’ve always loved midnights for many reasons, and I could lay all of those reasons on a table just to convince anyone to be in this camp with me. But there’s a part of midnight we don’t always talk about. The part that screams urgency and nudges us to take immediate action like it’s the only chance we’ve got.
It’s safe to say I always feel that urgency at midnight. The day may seem calm and less busy, but when it’s midnight, I automatically feel like there’s so much to do and so much to be. From reading, to watching educational videos on YouTube, to replying to old chats I neglected for days, these activities feel more urgent at midnight because when the sun rises, I may have little to zero time for them.

However, what feels most urgent at midnight is creating my to-do list, especially at the start of a new week. As someone who moves through her day better with a list, it can feel troubling when I don’t have it sorted out. I often feel like something is missing, and I begin to assume my week might start and end poorly simply because I’m trying to get through it without direction(my to-do list).
This feeling creates a sense of urgency for me at midnight because I become restless while thinking about it. I begin to worry that if I don’t start writing things down immediately and I fall asleep, I won’t have the luxury of time to do it later. Sometimes, I even restructure the list multiple times when it doesn’t feel mapped out in a way that flows with the days ahead of me. It’s funny how I only feel better once I address this urgency.
I guess planning for the next day or week simply cancels out the urgency of my thoughts at midnight, and I’ll choose this kind of urgency every time because it truly helps me stay productive.
It's ccurrently 4:15 am here and this is my response to the midnight letters prompt #19. You can find the details here if you'd like to write with us at midnight.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY BLOG!🤗
This was me sometimes ago. Just like you do now, I always feel the need to also carry out and attend to what I have ignored during the day and also get ready for the day which was really incredible and I like the fact that the you always find the need to address the urgency, you don't allow it to pile up before you address them. I think I have a new name for you...
That's nice to hear! Truly, it does help me, but I wonder why you no longer operate this way. Anyways, good to know!
This is true, and it was good that you addressed those things you couldn't achieve during the day. God bless you.
Thank you so much, dear.
