As a singer, I have been involved in various styles, from choral and traditional symphonic to dance, reggae, pop-rock or alternative; each with its own distinct characteristics. For the last few months I have been singing with these people, with whom I have a lot of fun: El Mariachi Sinaloa. Here are some pictures of the work we do on the weekends. There are good days and better days, from one or two serenatas to my Mother's Day record of fourteen serenatas. From seven in the morning until one in the morning the next day, non-stop.
On that day I wondered what you might be wondering today: Who is in the mood for a serenade at 7 a.m.? Certainly this lady, a mother of 12, whom we surprised with the mañanitas. Naturally, I was physically and vocally exhausted, but I've been singing for years, so I said to myself, "Mimisma, dale que el equipo siempre gana". I had to help myself with an anti-inflammatory, which I only use in extreme cases like this, as it is a strong corticosteroid and I have learnt the hard way not to abuse it.
Night work is indeed one of the most exhausting jobs there is, no matter what field you work in. It's good that in mine I have the satisfaction of filling hearts with joy, like that of the quinceañera in the last photos. It's good to be part of beautiful memories!
Como cantante he estado involucrada en varios estilos, desde lo sinfonico coral y tradicional hasta lo bailable, reggae, pop-rock o alternativo; cada uno, claramente con sus distinciones y particularidades. Desde hace un par de meses he estado cantando con esta gente con quienes me divierto mucho: El Mariachi Sinaloa. Aqui les dejo unas fotos del trabajo que hacemos los fines de semana. Hay días buenos, y dias mejores, desde una o dos serenatas, hasta mi record del día de las madres que fue de catorce serenatas. Empezando desde las siete de la mañana hasta la una de la madrugada del día siguiente, sin parar.
Ese día me preguntaba lo que quizá hoy se pregunten: ¿Quién quiere recibir una serenata a las 7:00am? seguramente esa señora, madre de 12 hijos a la que sorprendimos con las mañanitas. Demás está decir que estaba increiblemente agotada tanto física como vocalmente; sin embargo, son años y años cantando, así que me dije a mi misma -Mimisma, dale que el equipo siempre gana-. Tuve que ayudarme con un desinflamatorio que uso solo en casos extremos, como este; ya que es un fuerte corticoesteroide y aprendí a las malas a no abusar de él.
El trabajo nocturno es efectivamente uno de los más agotadores que hay, sea cual sea el rubro. Qué bueno que en el mío tengo la satisfacción de llenar de alegría corazones, como el de la quinceañera de las ultimas fotos. ¡Qué bueno formar parte de lindos recuerdos!
