Today was a day for carpentry. Let me tell you: My son needs a bed for his studio. He had a sofa there, and he could lie down on it when he had a break from work. It turns out that he wasn't very comfortable on that sofa, although he never told me so.

I went to the junk room, where I have a bed frame. It was missing the wooden base to support the mattress. I set out to buy the wooden boards, thanks to my nephew, who took me to a lumberyard.

I explained to the employee why I wanted the wooden slats, and he gave me some advice.

I bought three wooden slats measuring 3.60 meters. From there, I started doing the math and was able to get enough wood to fix my son's bed base and also get several pieces of wood for my bed. For now, I'll just tell you about the process of fixing my son's bed. We didn't have time to fix my bed. That will be for Monday.

We went to a small carpentry shop near my house. The carpenter, asked the man who helps me with things around my house and garden, for an exorbitant amount of money to cut the slats. I decided not to use his services and to do everything ourselves.

I called a good friend who has a woodcutter. I sent her to borrow it. The man who helps me cut them to the size I asked for.

This is how they ended up: two slats measuring 1.90 meters and eight slats measuring 1 meter. With all this, we have a good base for the mattress. I took the rest of the slats for my bed.

We bought the nails and started to assemble the frame. I didn't photograph the process because I was so excited about how it was turning out, and then I remembered the photos at the end.

This is how our bed base frame turned out. We lifted the bed frame and tightened the screws to secure the base to the bed.

Then I added these green cardboard slats, which I had in the junk room, to give the mattress a little more support.

Then we put the bed in my son's studio, and that's how it turned out. Even Meme came to snoop around because we took out the sofa and put it in the bed. I'm very happy with the result.

I spent a total of $24 on wood, $3 on nails, and we put together a bed that was not being used. Now my son will be able to rest better when he comes home from work, and of course, I gave it the thumbs up too, and it's magnificent.

We don't even know our own capabilities until we set out to exercise our minds and imaginations. I saved money that I don't have to spend on others, and we did a job that I am completely satisfied with. The best part is that my son loves the idea. He has thanked me for this gift for his rest.

Good job!

Thank you! yes, this work has turned out very well. My son is happy and so am I.

Awww, you’re such a thoughtful mother and I admire how much work you put into this to achieve this for your son’s comfort.
Happy weekend:)

As mothers, we always look for improvements for our loved ones, it is something we cannot avoid. Notice that my bed has two of the main woods broken, but the first thing I thought about when buying the boards was to fix the wooden base so that my son could sleep well during his breaks.
