It was the year 2020 when the pandemic hit us globally. I remember during this time, I just graduated from college and is about to take the board exam. But it was put on hold. For a time, it's like the whole world stopped revolving- establishments were so temporarily shut down, while others permanently lost their jobs.

As for me, I was at home all the time and probably have learned everything there is about household chores- cleaning, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, and among others. For a time I enjoyed these activities but after a while, I got bored to the point that my mental health was really affected. It was then that I learned about probiotics and the world of microbiome. Our gut plays a huge impact on our moods and overall health. I began to research about fermented foods and try making homemade kimchi, yogurt, cream cheese, until I found out about kombucha. This fermented drink is really expensive when bought in groceries so when I learned how to make them, I really got hooked.

This is what they called a scoby hotel where you park all your extra Scobies in a jar, plus a some starter liquid.

When making kombucha, we only need two simple ingredients- sugar and tea. Ive done my research and learned that wash sugar is the best option for kombucha because it's the healthiest alternative that also taste well. For the tea, only pure green or black tea is allowed to be used. And of course, we need to add a cup of starter liquid from our previous batch to complete the fermentation.

My fermentation process is only up to 10 days. Some would extend until 14 days, depending on factors like the room temperature, the acidity of the static liquid and tea.

I used to drink and advocate about kombucha and even sold some Scobies online at an affordable price. As of today, Ive sold about 50 Scobies and spread awareness to people about this health drink that had helped me with my stomach issues.

Currently, I stopped making kombucha due to my hectic schedule. But I still continue to share my Scobies to others.

Have you tried drinking kombucha? Let me know your thoughts about this health drink in the comment section below.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
