Muchas veces me ha ocurrido que termino descubriendo lugares agradables en la ciudad por simple coincidencia. Algunas veces sólo voy caminando tranquilamente hasta que algo llama mi atención y me lleva a descubrir algún sitio que quizás en cualquier otro momento hubiese ignorado por completo. Así me ocurrió con la Cafetería-Boutique del Centro Comercial Recreo y con la panadería que atiende Sr. Víctor en donde preparan una cafecito genial. El último lugar agradable que descubrí por mera coincidencia fue Art Café y del cual te hablaré un poco en esta oportunidad.
Luego de ir a la Panadería Cachito el Lunes pasado, fuimos a caminar un poco por el Centro Comercial San Ignacio, en Chacao. Recorriendo el lugar nos llamó la atención un pequeño espacio cuyas paredes internas eran muy coloridas y resaltaban los rostros de algunos personajes famosos como Salvador Dalí, por ejemplo. Nos llamó tanto la atención la estética del lugar que quisimos sentarnos a tomar un café ahí, a pesar de que no llevábamos más de cuarenta minutos sin haber consumido una taza de café.
Many times it has happened to me that I end up discovering nice places in the city by mere coincidence. Sometimes I'm just walking along quietly until something catches my attention and leads me to discover a place that perhaps at any other time I would have completely ignored. That's what happened to me with the Café-Boutique in the Recreo Shopping Center and with the bakery run by Mr. Victor where they prepare a great coffee. The last nice place I discovered by mere coincidence was Art Café and I will tell you a little about it in this opportunity.
After going to the Cachito Bakery last Monday, we went for a walk around the San Ignacio Shopping Center in Chacao. Walking around the place we were struck by a small space whose internal walls were very colorful and highlighted the faces of some famous people like Salvador Dali, for example. We were so struck by the aesthetics of the place that we wanted to sit down and have a coffee there, even though we had not consumed a cup of coffee for more than forty minutes.
Para cualquier otra persona este lugar no significaría una cosa del otro mundo, pero para quienes aprecian los pequeños detalles puede llegar a significar un buen espacio en donde pasar un rato tranquilo tomando café mientras lees un libro, garabateas en tu agenda o haces trabajo a distancia desde tu laptop porque sí, leyendo un poco en el Instagram de Art Café me encontré con que brindan conexión a Internet y, por tanto, funciona como un espacio de co-working. Además, también puedes divertirte un rato capturando algunas fotografías interesantes de las coloridas paredes del café.
Por otro lado, su propuesta de menú no es tan amplia. En cuanto al café brindan el tradicional americano, capuccino y mocaccino mientras que sus opciones de postres son mucho más limitadas y en cuanto a desayunos podemos encontrar nuestros tradicionales cachitos, pastelitos y tequeños. En esta oportunidad sólo probé el café, pero puede que en el algún otro momento pasé a degustar cualquier otra cosa del menú y, por supuesto, a fotografiar otros ángulos de esas paredes pintorescas.
For anyone else this place would not mean a thing of the other world, but for those who appreciate the small details it can become a good place to spend some quiet time drinking coffee while reading a book, scribbling in your diary or doing remote work from your laptop because yes, reading a little on Art Café's Instagram I found that they provide Internet connection and, therefore, it works as a co-working space. Besides, you can also have some fun capturing some interesting pictures from the colorful walls of the cafe.
On the other hand, their menu proposal is not so extensive. As for coffee they offer the traditional American coffee, cappuccino and mocaccino while their dessert options are much more limited and as for breakfast we can find our traditional cachitos, pastelitos and tequeños. In this opportunity I only tasted the coffee, but maybe at some other time I will stop by to taste anything else on the menu and, of course, to photograph other angles of those picturesque walls.
ArtCafé es de ese tipo de lugares para nada extravagantes que te terminan envolviendo con su sencillez. De hecho, me recuerda al Páramo Café o a la panadería frente a mi Universidad, en el sentido de que son esos lugares que guardas bajo la manga cuando necesitas tomar un buen café a mitad de mañana mientras recargas tu batería social (ja, ja, ja).
ArtCafé is one of those places that are not at all extravagant and end up enveloping you with their simplicity. In fact, it reminds me of the Páramo Café or the bakery in front of my university, in the sense that they are those places you keep up your sleeve when you need to have a good coffee in the middle of the morning while recharging your social battery (ha, ha, ha).
