Greetings fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
I hope this day is treating you well! Here in the US Pacific Northwest it is predictably cold and rainy, and up in the mountains the snow is coming down in bucketloads!

Inside our nice warm house, however, it is Caturday... my favorite day of the week!
It's also close to my favorite time of the year when the Hoomans bring a whole tree into the house and dangle tantalizing shiny objects from strings, all over the tree!
Smudge is starting to relax into her surroundings...
Meanwhile, little Smudge is settling in and letting us see more and more or her personality, as she gets more and more comfortable.
We give her a lot of attention to help her feel comfortable... sometimes we wonder if she misses here "original" Hooman mom.
It can't be easy to have such major life changes at such a late stage in life... but she seems to be doing very well.
Crazy Crypto Times...
The last few days have sure been quite a ride in the cryptosphere!
One moment we were all celebrating that Hive reached a new all-time-high... and then all of a sudden Bitcoin experienced a "Flash Crash" and took pretty much everything with it, on the way down.
From this cat's perspective, that's the sort of thing that's going to make it very difficult for cryptocurrencies to ever get to that point of mass adoption so many hope for.
Most people are just not used to — or willing to — live with that degree of risk and volatility in their finances!
Closer to Home...
The cat condo that came with Smudge is amazing!
The huge "cat condo" that came from Smudge's old home
is truly amazing and I have more or less taken it over... at least until smudge comes out and joins me on it.
She probably won't, though, as her jumping ability isn't the greatest... and that cat tree was mostly for the benefit of "Finnegan," Smudge's former cat housemate... who was younger and more able to enjoy it.
We're glad that Smudge has a very sweet and curious personality, though. And she has a wonderful (and quite LOUD!) purr which we get to hear more and more often, as time passes.
She's still not entirely sure about our dog, Daisy, but they'll hopefully figure it out, in time. Daisy is actually an excellent "Kitty Nana" who is quite used to kittens and elderly cats alike.
Running a little late on the Caturday update today... seems the Dad-Hooman had a lot of stuff he needed to get done for this "eBay" thing he's involved with.
I tolerate it as best I can! I guess since he assures me that it's how we pay for cat treats, it's OK... although I'm pretty sure my blog does that!

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the recently formed Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and has quite a bit of cat content!
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
