Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Welcome to the weekend! And consequently welcome to another Caturday, because we all know that Saturday means Caturday! And that's my favorite day of the week!
I sure wouldn't want to be out there...
It is COLD!
Boy, is it ever cold around here! It started snowing in a couple of days ago, and the temperature dropped to something the Hoomans have been calling "a new record low." Whatever that means... it's cold!
All I know is that I am certainly glad that we're indoors, and that I have some nice warm beds to sleep in. Our heater seems to be running Non-Stop and I'm very grateful that at least the house is nice and warm.
At least it has been sunny, so I can pretend that warmer days are here, at the top of the stairs!
I've been watching the birds outside through the window, and they're all puffed up like little round feather balls to try to keep warm.
The Ded-Hooman was even outside doing something he called "shoveling snow." I don't know why he bothered with all that work because we all know that the white stuff is going to melt when it starts raining in a few days, but I guess if he finds it entertaining then he should do whatever floats his boat!
It is at times like these that I am truly grateful that I have a great family, and that I get to be an indoor cat!
Crypto... Fail?
Meanwhile, I guess the great crypto rally so many Hoomans were hoping for has stalled out. I guess it was another case of people "buying the rumor and selling the news."
I'm glad our own investments don't really extend much beyond Hive's borders, although it seems like even our own Hive token took a beating in the recent downturn, as well.
I guess we'll just be patient... again...

The Future of Hive...Luring People In...
Sometimes I find myself contemplating what the things are that are going to gradually help Hive grow and thrive. One of the things we've had that definitely made a big difference has been Splinterlands and I'm hoping that other games — like maybe the most recent addition HoloZing will continue to do that.
I really do think part of the secret lies in being able to offer people activities on Hive, doing things they already do in daily life — whether it is gaming or e-commerce — and having a way for them to buy into it using fiat money in smaller amounts, where they then end up "inadvertently" being in crypto, under the guise of having purchased an item or having purchased game cards/tokens using fiat.

We can't just throw people directly into Web 3 and hope that they think it's the most magnificent thing that's ever come along.
Seldom is that how the world works. Most changes — even those that turn out to be game changers — are incremental. When mobile phones came out not everybody ran out and immediately bought one the first year, and when the Internet became a thing not everybody went out and got online the first couple of years.
But enough about that! It's time for me to get back to my napping and finding another place where I can stay nice and warm.

She is the fluffiest of the all! Alas, we have to shave her once a year, because it just keeps growing and growing, and she turns into "rasta kitty," otherwise!
