Did You See That ?

I think I may be seeing ghosts..!
Now I might be a senior kitty at 15 of your Hewmz years. Hewmz is what we kits call our pet humans. Did you know a cat year passes us by every couple months. Ain't no wonder we are seeing ghosts when we are living life at such a warp speed.
I noticed something strange happening a few weeks back. The Hewmz closed the door to the Catification Room. They never close that door.
They have been hanging out in there for hours and hours. This last Caturday when I snuck a peek a boo thru the crack in the doorway I seen something very scary!
No not the kitty from The Shining memes. This ghostly looking kitty drinking from our water fountain.
I will be watching closely for another glimpse of this mystery kitty behind the door. I will let you know more this next Caturday about what I see there. You Hewmz need to git out there and rescue a few ghosts of your own. After all it is the Halloween season.

Sometimes things don't go the way we wish but that don't mean we stop saving as many as we can...
I still wonder at times what Peanuts fate was. If & When You are ever ready I would like to know. π€
Peanuts is fine but he has FIC so I have to watch him carefully although he's been doing well on the Rx diet and tryptophan to help him chill.
It was the youngest 2, Batman and Simba that I lost and my boy Toffee to IBD that probably turned cancerous. The young ones simply vanished - Simba in December and Batman in February. I suspect the neighbours πΏπ‘
Never Easy to lose them. But not knowing their fate just multiplies the loss and anguish.
Our chocolate point is on the decline. He just turned 13. Looking 18. Down to half his body weight at 9 pounds. He was a big boy and has been to vet twice in last month.
Sammi Jo is still the only one of our pride of 8 that he will lay with. Such a great couple they have been. I fear his time with us is short.
He has a ways to go to be our most expensive cat. Lil Guy the Orange Tabby with a blockage from a drawstring he ate out of my sweat pants almost killed him.
He is still my #2 fave kitty. Just a frikkin lunatic ginger. Typical huh?
I'm sorry! With weight-loss like that, is the vet saying the C-word or what is going on?
Your final picture of ginger innocence is a classic! Thankfully intestinal blockage is one of the few things I haven't had to deal with... Let me not tempt fate.
Yes, it's the not knowing part of losing them that is the worst.
I took Jax to the vet because of his weight loss and I thought he had a couple bad teeth that might be giving him trouble eating. The vet ran all his blood work and said things looked good for his age. We scheduled to have 2 teeth removed thinking they were bad. It turned out that they just needed cleaned. He still has all his teeth! When doing his teeth they ran more blood work and said his liver enzymes were a little high and put him on meds. After 30 days he had more bloodwork to check enzymes. Said they were a little higher but that based on his age that was standard and to continue his meds.
Two weeks later (on a sunday) I noticed a sore on his back-end and did some research online ( should never do that..lol) and thought it was an anal glad infection so I made another vet appt on Monday. Took him in and vet said anal glands were good! It was a small absess that had already opened and basically cleared itself. Gave Jax a pain shot and pain meds to take home. He also put him on an antibiotics to ensure there was no infection and an antibacterial spray to clean the area. After the past few days the sore looks better and he is acting like his old self.
He is back to eating and slowly putting on a little weight. Don't think he will ever be a 20lb cat again but looks better. Guess we finally found the right combo of food he wants and teeth better. Hopefully we stay on track for awhile.
Hey @nikv how bout a post when you get time about Peanut. We were really loving following along in his progress early on. Such a handsome fella. π₯°
That sounds good. Having a sore butt can really set them back and he may yet surprise everyone and fill back out. I hope so!
They did all the bloodwork and such. Put him on some pill. Kel @pooky-jax is on it.

He might just be a shorter life span kitty. Really rough start to his life. He was a landfill rescue kitten. So his momma or a sub human drops him in a dumpster. He survives the dumping of that dumpster into the truck that compacts the garbage. Then he somehow survives the dumping of tons of trash out of the compactor truck and does not get ran over. A landfill worker sees he is still alive and they throw the live ones in a cardboard box in the shade. If they survive till the end of the day they drop them at the shelter. His eyes were completely infected shut and they did not think he would keep them or survive. They are still weepy most of the time but look at those eyes.!!
Yes, the blue-eyed cats... What a story. Better I keep quiet about people who dump living creatures into a dumpster
