Been a while since I posted pictures of our cats. We moved to Florida last year, and one of the benefits was having what they call a "bird cage" down here. This is basically a large screened in area around our back patio/pool area.
Definitely a benefit to keep all the bugs and critters out, and really makes using the patio and pool pleasurable. I was amazed at the difference, and how much more time we spend outside enjoying it now than we did our back deck in Vermont, which was often so full of flys, mosquitos, no-see-ums and such that we just didn't want to sit out there until the cold weather came to kill all the bugs, and then well, it was just too cold out to enjoy.
Our cats that were getting a bit bored and depressed in Vermont are now full of new life. They just love exploring the bird cage area or chasing the occasional lizard that gets inside.
Here's a picture of "King" George, the white ragdoll on the lounge chair and Jax the Maine Coon on the spa ledge. It seems they also enjoy lounging in the warmth.
Here's a few more shots of two of them. The third cat is on the other side under the palm trees.
Enjoy your Caturday as we are!
What a Life! Although I prefer the term 'Catio'
Hahaha, love it. It has officially been renamed to Catio!
I have the option of being out on my deck or in the screen porch if I need bug protection. I do give credit to all the birds for the fact that I seldom have many bugs! Your cats are so lovely!
The cats are pretty decent. I was never really what I consider a cat person, but I'm warming up to them more and more over the years. Learning to love their independence more and more.
Lovely cats! I like how Jax is sitting there by the pool, I have 2 cats myself but they would never dare to sit near the water lol
One of them did slip off a bit and got his back half all wet before clawing and scrambling himself back out. It was pretty comical and he was definitely more careful for the next week!
Haha that must have been hilarious, needed a video
I found it always weird those cages to see, but i get it considering the amount of mozzies there in the evenings. No bueno!
But good benefit of not having the animals to break out, get them to roam around without having to look the entire time if they are not departing :)
Yes, they are all three swarming the door in the mornings and get quite impatient for me to open the door and let them out. It's nice to give them that extra freedom safely. We got George as a 4 yr old rescue, he's now somewhere around 15 (will have to look that up). It has certainly brought him some new life and bounce back in his steps.
What can I tell you... I love cats and yours are total beauties, and now they are here and enjoying a beautiful place.... what a beauty they are!!!!
Thanks and they are definitely enjoying it!
Enjoy them very much... they are magic.
Looks like the best room in the house /
