I can't believe I'm doing this again

These little ones have fever coats - caused by their mother being sick while she was pregnant. They will change colour; there are actually only 2 grey kittens there

2 years ago I took on the task of feeding a neighbour's dangerously thin cat that had 5 kittens, to keep them all alive and I still feed one of those kittens. I went there 11 days ago to check on her and was shown a box with 5 very young kittens in the kitchen that had been there a couple of days. There was nothing in the box except a saucer of cows milk and they were thin and lethargic so I fed them some of the adult cat food and they ate ravenously.

Nibbling on my toebeans

I was told that the owner of the mini supermarket nearby had given them away and suggested to the person who took them that he was keeping them in very unsuitable conditions - by now most of them had vanished into the lower compartment of the kitchen unit through a large rat hole and that they were actually too small to be separated from their mother but too old to be fed nothing but milk, nor was adult cat food suitable and that they were going to crap and piss all over his kitchen and persuaded him to let me have them and return them when they were older. I have no intention of giving them back as none of those people are able to take care of cats in any way that isn't just cruel - cats are unfed and unsterilised, they will all be dead in 6 months or end up at my place anyway, either sick or abandoned.

Stinking cute even when I'm using the box

Getting the kittens into a carrier was fun: to get them out of the compartment, he took out the stinking rotten boards under the kitchen sink - the sink is leaking and nobody fixes it, there's just a bucket under the drainpipes. Of course there was one that had made his way under the drawer compartment so, being small of stature, I got to climb into that stinking unit and reach into the hole that led to that compartment.

Once I got them home, I started feeding them properly and they showed themselves to be very thirsty for water and quite good at using a litter-tray which was a relief. I braced myself for the inevitable diarrhoea tsunami and they didn't disappoint. Lots of dewormer and probiotics later, most are pooping normally and they are growing nicely and having fun.

Kitten antics do my heart good

What can I say: I told my vet I needed a slap and she said they'd help me to home them later. I'm a sucker for cats and I couldn't bear the thought of them dying needlessly in that man's foul kitchen. When they are this young and full of energy, I can definitely use the laughter therapy caused by their kitten antics

They are so cute, so cute! You do good deeds my friend, very good deeds. Thank you.

I try but.... I hope this story has a better ending than the last

Que adorables son toda una monada

😻 😻 😻

Each and every single one of those kittens has mischief written on its face 😸

Indeed they do. Climbing my leg is the latest thing

How beautiful 😁🤩😍! You'll have good company for the next few months. I can just imagine them inside the house, curiously exploring everything hehe.

Greetings @nikv and a happy weekend to you and your babies 🐈‍⬛!! 😊🙏🏻

Yes although I can't keep them all! happy weekend and week to you

💕 Thank You 💕

My other cats feel ghosted too

Greetings @nikv ,

Such a beautiful post.....lovely adorable kitties...thank you for rescuing them.

Kind Regards, Bleujay

Thank you!

They're beautiful ! Thank you for saving them 😍

That's the easy part. Finding good homes is another thing entirely

Hope you are getting lots of laughter therapy! you deserve it for your BIG heart. I was comfortable reading about you in that nasty kitchen 😳 much less the poor kittens. Glad you got the kittens out of there 👍

They are giving my lots of fun. And almost heart-attacks...

oops I meant uncomfortable.

Hopefully enough fun to get you past the heart attack moments 😅

So cute kittens. Though it is known you are doing a tough job, you must be enjoying every moment spent with them.

Little kittens are a joy

You are an incredible person! And I agree with you, don't return the kittens to that person. I know it's exhausting to take care of little kittens for long periods of time, but I'm sure that your good deeds will be rewarded with blessings many times over. Those photos are great too, and the tsunami of diarrhea with newly rescued kittens is true. It's clear that you're no amateur at this hahaha ~ 🫡 🐱

Thank you! Yes, I am the cat lady but at least these little guys are more fun than hard work. The person I got them from has already agreed that he won't be getting them back

These are the things that make me sad about people. These helpless kittens trust the people at their side and we despise them. You can't have such a hard heart, seeing how they despise these little ones. They are as therapeutic as you have said.

So true!
