Indian and an IPA
It's hard to beat a nice tasty crisp IPA and spicy Indian dinner. The beer quenching the thirst and the spicy dinner being absolutely delicious.
So I was pissed off when I picked up this Indians and arrived home. Why was I pissed off? Well, when I got home and started dishing out our meals to my wife and kids, I found what you never want to find.
Yes they had included the Raita, they had the chutney, they had the mixed onion and that mixed spicy pickle thing and I was excited to mix them together on top of my Poppodams.
Oh yes the Poppodams. Sure I always loved my Lamb Jalfrezi or whatever ever else I ordered, but the Poppodams were always a highlight!
Well you can only imagine my abject disgust when I opened up the bag when I got home. Not 6 Poppadoms, not 5. Not even three Poppadoms!! Surely to god with a €40+ spend there would be two. Nope. There was one miserable Poppadom, split in half. What the feck good is 4 dips with one poxy Poppodam! I was gutted to say the least.
Luckily my lovely wife let me have it all and I tipped all the dips on there, but to say I was disappointed would be the understatement of the year! Thankfully the curry was unreal, but by Christ were they tight with the Poppodams!
Incidentally is this a record for the most mentions of Poppodams in one post???? Yes I think it way well be!!
As per usual my trusty Sierra Nevada IPA made a perfect accompaniment to the spicy curry. This particular IPA is always a go to and absolutely never lets you down. Tasty. Crispy. Trusty. Capiche?
There was other choice in the auld drinks fridge too, but in the end it had to be an IPA to go with the curry.
I do enjoy a Guinness too as ye know but the black stuff does not go as well with an Indian curry, while an IPA or any beer goes perfectly in my opinion.

Shame on them for such a lousy allocation of poppodam...
Most people buy the meal just for that addition...
I know!!! The disappointment was real!!!
