I don’t know how it is in your city, but in Prague life is quickly returning to normal. And now another beer festival, thundered the city of a one hundred towers, shaking the northeastern part of the capital in an unbridled holiday. On Friday June 26th, Prague Cobolis Brewery traditionally celebrated the two-year anniversary of its opening. Due to the lockdown, the holiday was postponed for a month and a half, from May to June, which in no way affected the holiday of life. The beer festival was held with the support of the main partner - the national Czech brewery Budvar Budejovice, which in practice meant not only huge marketing support, but also the attraction of top Czech music artists for sponsorship money. The beer festival Cobolis beer & food fest was held in an open format, on a small area near the Ladvi cultural house and the metro station of the same name, which made it accessible within 10 minutes from the center of Prague, which was used by thousands of people from all over the city. In addition to the Cobolis and Budvar breweries, the event was attended by friends of the organizers from all over the Czech Republic, including the Axiom, Trilobit, Volt, Chroust, Beer Factory, Wild Cock, Vik, Raven, Sibeeria, who brought dozens of interesting and unusual beers. Traditional lagers and English ales, representatives of the new craft wave from the USA and sour styles, did not leave guests of the beer festival indifferent. For beer, you could order tasty street food from invited vendors, but you could also find options for snacks from nearby supermarkets, since the festival area was not fenced in any way, which means you could just buy anything and bring it with you.

In fact, the beer festival was held in the format of the Bavarian Biergarten, when you bring with you to eat anything. If you wanted, you could also bring beer from supermarkets, but there was no point in this, since beer prices from participating breweries were very moderate, and it is not every day in Prague that you can taste beer from minibreweries from all over the Czech Republic.

The city police kept order, as people in the Czech Republic are quite polite and tolerant of each other, which means that there is no need for a private security service. As for the most common question that many friends asked me - social distance and security measures against coronavirus. Formally, there are warnings about compliance with such measures even at the legislative level, but Czech society as a whole is not religious, including it does not believe in coronavirus😊

Given that the Czech Republic was the first EU country to introduce the mandatory wearing of masks when exit to the street since the beginning of March 2020, and masks are still required in public transport and on premises, everyone was tired of such restrictions. So the locals are happy to come off on holidays, understanding what’s what. I hope you enjoyed my short report on the beer festival Cobolis beer & food fest, and I will continue to cover the Czech beer life for you ...
