Once Upon A time . . . . .

Once upon a time, I never would have chosen this beer. Once upon a time, until I started #beersaturday, I never would have chosen this beer on a hot lazy, hazy Summer Day in North Carolina.

And yet, as time passes, so do our experiences, so do the challenges of the everyday. The little ones grow up and the old ones pass away, it's just how it is.

So last week @cryptictruth in a COMMENT said that in these hot lazy hazy days was sticking to light crisp lagers and IPAs.

And that got me old brain cells firing about an IPA, I had last summer. I just could not shake the idea of a cold hazy IPA on a hot hazy North Carolina day.

Hate is an awful strong word to use, lets just say I was not fond of IPAs. And then last year, things started to change.

And then, I had this beer on a #beersaturday. Suddenly, I understood the allure of a hazy West Coast IPA. I am not a liar and the blockchain is forever, this is the IPA that turned my thinking around : Christmas in July for #BEERSATURDAY

So on this hot lazy, hazy, North Carolina Summer day I decided to try a West Coast IPA brewed right here in the Old North State.

BEER NAME: West Caost IPA
STYLE: West Coast IPA
ABV: 8.5%
BREWER: Hi-Wire Brewery in Asheville, North Carolina
APPEARANCE: orange, cloudy and pours with a medium head
AROMA: citrus
TASTE: smooth, citrus and mild hops reminds me of a "screwdriver" cocktail
MOUTHFEEL: light body, light carbonation clean finish BUT this is where the hops linger

Over all a great brew and a nice buzz starter on this lazy, hazy Summer Day.
