Well, Hivers that's another week gone by and time for Saturday online 4 thirsty beers with my mate @scubahead
this week's tasting was 1698 a very traditional Kentish Strong ale from Shepherd Neame & Co from Faversham in Kent.
As you would expect it's quite hoppy and at 6.5%ABV it does kick like a March hare too.
Shepherd Neame can lay claim to be ing the UK's oldest brewer established in 1698 Wiliam of Orange and Queen Mary were on the throne. Mombasa and Zanzibar were captured by the Ottomans.

Based mostly in the southeast and London areas this was the first time I'd seen it in my local supermarket here in the west country. It is a very pleasant tipple and if a little on the strong side you definitely don't want to be driving after a bottle or two of this brew.
