Hey, beersaturday fellows… how are you? As the autumn goes on, I can already feel the winter holidays approaching. Summer IPAs and pale ales need to be placed with heavier and more warming beers, at least to some extent. Personally, I am ready for some stouts and seasonal brews. But today is not the day for such beer. I chose a sour beer… Here is the Duchesse Chocolate Cherry!

My wofe recently bought a nice light tree, which seemed perfect for a cool background, which seemed very suitable for this exact beer. I think that I kept this in my refrigerator since the last Christmas and it was peacefully waiting for its turn. So, here it is!

For maximym joy, I decided to pour it in a wine glass, which also would comprehend about the vibe of the photos. So, after setup is done and the test photos are checked, it is time for enjoying the beer itself.

Right from opening the beer, a light brett scent is released. It is accompanied by the cherry sweetness, but the chocolate vibes are not present here. Hopefully there will be some in the taste… The color is dark brown and the carbonation is quite pleasant. Of course, the head is not that lasting, which is usual for the brett and sour beers.

The photos seem to look amazong and I am extremely happy with this tree. Now it os time to proceed towards tasting this beauty.

In the mouth it starts sour, but it is not as intense like the original Duchesse. The sourness is wuite well balanced with the sweetness of the fruits and well, here I can already feel the chocolate vibes as well. These 6,8% alcohol content don’t seem harsh, which is another propf for the good balance of the beer. I like quite a lot the cherry vibe in the company of the chocolate.

This is definitely a decent company for the short autumn days and as the night gradually falls I tend to enjoy the beer even more. If there was a fireplace, I would definitely enjoy the sotuation even more. For now this doesn’t seem possible. 😁

This beer reminds me how much I like sour beers, especially brett sours and the Duchesse is one of the leading brands in the more traditional Belgian beers.
Do you like it and would you be happy to enjoy one? It was definitely a nice afternoon, in the company of this beauty.

That’s for now, see you soon and have a nice week!
Cheers!
