I don’t think it is getting old so much as your palate becoming more refined! I started drinking ipas because I got away from crushing 6+ pints in a session. So, I enjoy a pint that tastes like 6 of them like an ipa.
Like you, I am unthrilled by regular ales and lagers and need a big hop taste punch and that is how the blog goes.

It’s funny I was at a brewery today and was eyeing the different selections to see what I would try. I was originally going with a Pilsner but I said eh screw it, this double IPA sounds better! I’ll be posting about it next Saturday but their selection wasn’t that good so I went with an old reliable! It was a strong one too, I think 9% lol. Gave me a decent little buzz for an hour which was nice, no misery the following morning.
I can’t even think about drinking more than 2 beers these days hahaha. I haven’t drank more than 2 in years, likely 7 or 8 at this point lol. 2 is my absolute max so I don’t become useless the following day.
