Checking Off my Out-Campus Internship

in Hive PH5 months ago

It's been weeks my fellow Hivers! How are you?

It's been weeks since I last had a number of entries, and I missed doing it. I have been swamped lately with my internship. If you still do not know, our out-of-campus internship has finally ended. It's a YEY, right? But no, no, no! We still have a lot to comply with. We must submit portfolios, school forms, and action research as a prerequisite for graduation. We also need to complete one MOOC and pass a certificate to the DOI's Office. And the highlight of all is that we still need to complete our in-campus internship, which is expected to end on May 23. It was still a battle of endless cries and perseverance.

Hence, allow me to share with you the core memories I had during my out-of-campus internship. The pictures I'm going to share resonate with how fun, productive, and fruitful my internship was at my cooperating school.

I am so glad that our cooperating school welcomed us with good smile and appreciation. All throughout our internship, we did not feel any negative vibes from our mentors, from other teachers, and from the principal.

In fact, they have been very supportive of us all throughout the internship. They guided us with grace, with care, and with patience. They have imposed so much trust in us especially when handling the class. I am so grateful of the fact that my mentor was so kind and patient. All my questions or queries regarding the class or the subject I handled was answered directly. Those moments of confusions were swept away by my mentor as she guided me and supported me to become better. As a token of appreciation, I handed her a certificate and a token as a symbol of my heart's gratefulness to her kind and supportive guidance of my practice teaching journey.

Aside from the mentor, I also made sure that I get to thank my students for being cooperative and supportive especially on the days that I need to accomplish five demonstration teaching. These students made my whole practice teaching journey overwhelming. At first, I was so conscious, but they made our class atmosphere calm and fun. Hence, I get to make my job easier and engaging. They made me realize that teaching is fun, contrary to what I believed. They may be hardheaded sometimes, but they made an impact on my life. I appreciated them, so I gifted them a certificate, snacks, and a cute ballpen. This may be simple, but I rendered my heart with gratitude in preparing all of this. Actually, I couldn't think of any better that suits them best. Thus, I believe, it is best to give them a ballpen with a message to read every day.

While remembering all those memories I had since the start of my practice teaching, I realized that I really have come this far.

So, I don't have any reason not to continue just because I am tired. For myself, my family, and the students I'll have in the future. I need to make myself better and better to be able to say, "I made it!"

This sounds quite tough...I mean I'm on the way to that one, and just reading this made me nervous. I know that the last year in college would really be grueling, but I know you'll definitely overcome it! Btw, thanks for sharing. This one's really inspiring, hopefully, I can experience such a nice internship experience soon~
