RE: Living with a Diabetic Mom

in Hive PH2 months ago

My family also has diabetes, so I was afraid of what the future held for me after witnessing our elderly members lose their vision and two of them endure wounds that would not heal unless they were amputated. It is frightening since it is inherited.

Sort:

It is not really inherited, but since it is in your family, the chances of getting it is very high.
What to do? Start now to avoid other risk factors like obesity, sedentary lifestyle, excess carbohydrates or sugar intake.

So I advise you begin to do moderate exercise if you are not overweight. But if you already are overweight then you may increase the intensity of the exercise so as to loose weight. Watch your diet, increase fruit and vegetables intake, proteins too and reduce carbohydrate intake, also reduce sugar intake.
You can also check your blood sugar levels and see your doctor for advice

Yes I'll take note with that. I am very particular with my diet and as well in taking my vitamins together with healthy food. :)

What of exercise? 🌚

Yes I agree, we don't know what will happen to us but let's just hope that everything can be manags by ourselves.
