Beyond the Canvas: Exploring Creativity at SNHS's Art Exhibit

in Hive PHlast month

Hello, Hivers!

Have you ever tried to wonder as to how the artists convey their ideas without words? Why is art so fascinating, even if you can’t draw? As I wandered through the last month's Art Exhibit at my cooperating school, I began asking myself, “How can art speak?” It just struck me how every single piece seemed to tell a different story, would give rise to a different feeling, and a different thought.

Some of the works left me stunned and others widened my interest and deep thought. Last February 2025, the school where I was assigned conducted its Arts Month Art Exhibit. I was happy and excited because I love art. I have always found art so meaningful and amazing even if I could not draw, paint or express myself through art. For me, seeing a visually appealing arts never cease to amaze me.

Artists are so incredible that they can use colors to express their selves, thoughts, ideas, and opinions. The exhibit was filled with so many creative works that I found myself filled with an admiration for art and its many forms all over again.

Now, I am now thrilled to showcase the incredible creations of the students from Sabang National High School. Each piece speaks to their originality, creativity, and imagination. These young talented artists have expressed their emotions and feelings through color, shape and stunning visually inspiring pieces that are full of meaning. Give it a moment and let their art move through you as you go through these different arts.

| So, this is one of those arts that really caught my attention. The art looks so peaceful yet so sad. It seem that the boy do care for the girl but just watch her from a far. Its giving me the vibe of the famous quote “you’re so close yet so far”. So sad, right? 😞

Pain Thumbnail.png
| This one is one of those arts that left me stunned. It is just a single art but it conveys a lot of message and tells a lot of story. It honestly pained and broke my heart me seeing this kind of art. 💔

Nostalgic Thumbnail.png
| I found this art very beautiful and nostalgic. I remember the time when we are still living in Bonawon. 🍃

Sunset Thumbnail.png
| This one’s also so cute. It’s so nice to have someone you can share everything to and watch the sunset or sunrise together. 🌆

Drowin Thumbnail.png
| This art speaks a lot, for me, also. It’s giving the “drowning in my own thoughts” idea, another famous quote.

And there’s a lot of painting that I really gave time to look to during that time. Each gave different messages and are telling different stories. Some are happy, some are sad. Some are too deep that for me, my own interpretation isn’t enough to give a meaning to that particular art. 💭

Diorama Thumbnail.png
Aside from the paintings, the diorama made from different student where also displayed. There was a volcano (made from different recyclable materials), a simple but cute house (made from popsicle sticks), a model of Taj Mahal (constructed from a newspaper), and the Leaning Tower of Pisa (which is famous because of its nearly 4-degree lean).

Poem Thumbnails.png
The students own made poem and spoken poetries were displayed. Some are about love (happy and sad), there are also about friendships, and about ‘Sariling Wika’ (in english is own language or native language).

The exhibit also showcase the students photography about traditional Filipino games. It is 'Mga Larong Pambata (translated in english as children’s game). It shows how children used to play outside before, far from today’s generation where they are into gadgets already. But these games are only not intended for children, we — adults, can play these too. These games are called here in the Philippine as bato lata (knocking down a tin can using the players slippers), dampa (where players will arrange rubber bands on the ground, then will hit or stack to scatter the rubber bands as many as possible), and luksong baka (players take turns jumping over someone, where rises became higher and higher).

Mask Thumbnail.png
Painted mask were displayed as well. I remember I painted one during my high school days, but it is not as good as theirs. Remembering that moment made me realize more that I really don’t have a talent in art. HAHAHAHA lol 😬

Soap Carving Thumbnail.png
I was also amazed because one of my younger brother’s work was displayed. One of their project was soap carving, they were allowed to choose anything they want to carved. As for him, he choose to carved a heart shape (the one in the circle). It may seem just a little thing for others but as an Ate, I was really proud that I even told one of my student who were also there about my younger brother's work. Yay! 👏🏻

It’s just so amazing how these talented artists from my cooperating school use different colors, shapes, creativity, imagination, and images to express their emotions, ideas and experiences. Just wow.. how those art moves us, even though we’re not an artists? I would love to hear yours, what is/are your favorite/s piece of artwork and what draws you in it? Oh yeah ... I know that feeling!
Also the other pictures are very intersting and beautiful! I especially like the ones with the warm red, organe and yellow colors.

same here. that's why that painting really caught my attention as it already happened to me once 😬

They are all beautiful piece, there's a lot of talented student in that School. I am also not an artist but I always appreciates arts or others crafts. I know how hard it is to create such and seriously, nakaka amaze sila. I often wish I am as skilled as them. UwU. Anyways I'm sure these kids who exhibit their arts in there are also so proud. Imagine daming nakakakita ng mga gawa nila diba(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

right 💯 glad that the school conducted this kind of event. it will help the students to be more motivated in doing what they love to do.
