A Quick Visit to Saint Therese of the Child of Jesús and the New Way of the Cross Diocesan Shrine, Calubihan, Leyte

When I was in Leyte, we went to Saint Therese of the Child of Jesús and the New Way of the Cross Diocesan Shrine, Calubihan, Leyte. We went there before going to the market to purchase the ingredients for our moron. While having our trip, I started to feel a little bit nervous when I saw that the road going there was so small it's only one lane and it's near the seashore and the soil was pure and when it rains for sure it's very slippery. I just prayed and Kuya, the driver was very careful, thus we continued to travel until we reached the shrine. We are very much excited when we're there already. It was my first time seeing a shrine with different stations of the cross. Even if it's quite hard to climb by we first went to the Last Supper.

We were very happy when we were there. I took a lot of photos as we strolled over the whole shrine. There was a replica of the Last Supper and different stations of the cross. I realized that the shrine will be visited most during the Lenten season, especially by those who are devoted to having their way of the cross with family.

I went to the different stations. There were 14 stations. It commemorates the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Every station depicts the moment of Jesus on the Calvary. During Lenten Season we offer prayer and reflection in every station as part of our celebration as Christians. Even if it was mountainous but still, I still managed to climb the peak since I found a route going to the different stations not so risky. If I am going to follow the stairs, for sure I will end up maybe losing my breath. Hehehe. When I was on the top view, It was a breathtaking view. I saw the beauty of Leyte. The open sea, the mountains, and the places nearby. We enjoyed our sightseeing and experience the shrine portrayed and showcased the commemoration of Jesús Christ's death on the cross to save us from sin.
