"The Youth Is The Hope Of Our Future" — Jose Rizal

So hello hello again everybody~!!! Another free day, another blog ❤️ it's me again, haruki.tls123 with a new blog post. So, today I'm here to share with you our discussion during our first monthly meeting this year 2024, our plans ahead and also for upcoming events for our youth in our City.

Since I'm the current President of Children's Rights Advocacy in our City, also I hold a position of another organization which is the Pag-asa Youth Organization Of The Philippines (PYAP) which is kinda big. We advocate positive change and empowerment especially for our youth in our generation. Our mission is clear: to support and uplift the youth, particularly those who are out of school, by providing them with opportunities for growth and development. Our organization is driven by the belief that every young individual deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through our monthly meetings, we come together to discuss, plan, and implement initiatives aimed at addressing the needs and challenges faced by the youth in our communities.

As advocates for youth empowerment, our organizatio is committed to providing a platform where young people can voice their concerns, share their ideas, and access the resources they need to thrive. As also one of the leaders, we want to serve as a hub for learning, collaboration, and support, where members can participate in workshops, seminars, and discussions tailored to their needs and interests. Whether it's through educational assistance programs, skills training workshops, or mentorship opportunities, PYAP is dedicated to equipping the youth with the tools and support they need to realize their full potential and become active contributors to society.

As this is our first monthly meeting, which we kicked off in late February, it marks a significant milestone for us, especially considering the challenges we faced in the previous months. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to start in January, but now, with renewed determination, we have finally commenced our gathering and then we discussed about our upcoming events, challenges of youth and many more.

Before diving into the main agenda of our meeting, we began with a moment of reflection and gratitude, as we opened with a prayer led by yours truly. It was important for us to ground ourselves in faith and unity before embarking on the discussions ahead.

Following the prayer, we recalled our experiences, reflecting on the events and activities that shaped our organization in the past year. From anniversary celebrations to the summer youth camp, and the various livelihood activities we organized, each event served as a testament to our commitment to the community and the youth we serve. Through these reflections, we were able to appreciate the milestones we've achieved and the impact we've made on the lives of those around us.

Some pics from last year's activities:

After recalling, we officially commenced the meeting, and our first order of business was a pressing concern: the alarming rise in HIV cases in our province. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, we devised a plan to reactivate youth engagemens across all barangays. Our goal is to increase membership in the council and raise awareness about HIV prevention and support. As the president of the Children's Rights Advocacy (CRA), it is my responsibility to be one of the spearhead in this initiative, particularly in barangays where action has been lacking.

In this month of March, we're aiming to achieve two goals at once. First, if we succeed in reactivating our youth members, we plan to hold training sessions on HIV prevention to raise awareness. This way, we're not just increasing participation but also educating our members on an important issue. Looking ahead to April, we're already planning our 50th anniversary celebration of PYAP, which I'm really excited about. Last year's anniversary was amazing, with youth coming together in unity. This year, we're hoping for an even more youth participants. That's why we're working on reactivating more barangays, so we can have a stronger presence and make the anniversary celebration even more memorable.

Moving on to the month of May, we have another big event lined up: the Summer Youth Camp. This is where all the youth come together for a fun-filled time of activities, games, and showcasing their talents and leadership skills. It's a chance for them to shine individually and also to interact with each other in a positive environment.

Last year's experience was absolutely fantastic! The energy and enthusiasm were infectious as everyone participated in various activities and symposiums. It's a joy to see the youth coming together, sharing their skills and talents, and building connections with one another. This year, we're looking forward to creating even more unforgettable memories and fostering a sense of camaraderie among the youth. It's going to be an event filled with laughter, learning, and meaningful interactions.

Here we are in the month of June, transitioning from joyful events to more focused work. We'll be heading out to barangays to hold symposiums on various awareness topics, not just HIV but also teenage pregnancies and anti-drug awareness just like last year but we want more participants this year.

In the following months, we plan to expand our livelihood activities, but for now, we'll be volunteering with youth from different barangays to participate in activities like baking, pastry making, and more. As we move into September and October, we'll be gearing up for the City of Naga Fiesta, preparing many activities for our youth. Our goal is to grow and expand these events for the benefit of the youth in our community.

Then, as we approach November and December, we want to shift our focus to Christmas activities and more events for the youth.

These are our agendas for the coming months, and in our next monthly meeting, we'll be focusing on programs aimed at raising awareness and reactivating many barangays. It's going to be an exciting and productive time ahead!
