The recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake here in Northern Cebu Philippines left damages in several houses and left us with a power outage.
It is the fourth day since the earthquake and we did not had any power supply. Luckily, the Mactan Rock Industries Incorporated lend us their generator through the effort of my uncle who is a previous employee in the company.
The generator is placed in our old store which is just in front of our house. As of October 3,2025 11:00 am we now have power supply via generator and we can finally charge our devices.
We also have a lot of neighbors who brought their devices here to charge. Power banks, phones and mini fans.
This is our current situation in Purok Nangka, Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu, Philippines as of October 3,2025.
My hometown here in Purok Nangka, Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu is just 10-15 minutes where the epicenter is located. Therefore, whatever shake and rumble they feel in Bogo City will also be felt here in our hometown.
MAKESHIFT TENTS
We are still here in our makeshift tents which we made as our temporary shelter because we still fear about going back to our homes since it is still shaking every now and then.
There are almost ten families in our frontyard and we are all gathered here outside as our frontyard served as our evacuation center. It is far from possible falling buildings and objects and distant from falling trees. It is safe here.
Since we have our generator now, we can now use these electric fans and stand fans which I love most because this will prevent us from getting bitten by mosquitoes at night.
There is also a camping tent owned by our neighbor set up here in our frontyard as they sleep here outside also.
During day time, some of our neighbors go home to their our individual homes.
But they come back here during night time. Somehow, it feels safer to be around a lot of people especially being surrounded by family and loved ones.
This too, shall pass. Keep safe everyone!❤️ Ciao!
