HivePH Updates

We’re still active and growing.

We mentioned on our previous post how some parts of the curation have been automated. Whenever someone used the #hiveph tag, there’s a bot that picks up the post and shares it on the hiveph server. No need to drop by the server just to visit the post promo.

It has been an improvement for both promoter and admins. Our curators no longer need to look hard to see where your posts are, and you no longer need to visit the server just to dump your links.

We try to shy away from voting authors that have already gained traction on the platform. If they do get voted on, it’s part of the trails the account follows. Once HardFork25 comes, the curation game will change and several names will be crossed off the automated voting list.

Voting on comments would later be a norm compared to voting on posts alone.

I think most people aren’t aware of how this impacts the future voting patterns of this account. With the linear rewards curve, it makes it more appealing to vote for comments that do engage with the community. For people still focusing on their content and apathy, you may need to reconsider.

This account keeps growing by the day and once the next bull run happens, even the cents worth of upvote it gives is enough to pay for your fare (if you live in the Philippines). Even if the bull run never happens, the returns you get while staking your hive is already more than what you can get with the equivalent money for your savings account. Not a financial advice but you can see how much value the charts have shown this token has for the past year.

If you’re still caught up with the short term ups and downs of the token, you won’t get to see how much you can gain when you reinvest or stake then try to grow your account on the long term.

The change of management hasn’t happened. I’m still the HivePH (@adamada) unless @romeskie decides to take the seat again. It doesn’t really change what I do for the community though. I’d still help the community grow and the label is all just that, a label.

With the upcoming changes to the linear rewards, the practice of self voting should be frowned upvote. To any fuckwit that still bothers to do that with a 50%/50% reward distribution scheme going, it’s just being greedy. I know I downvoted some users here that are within the community and outside for the same practices. I know how one can just by-pass this by trading votes with different alts.

Just saying I notice it but I have yet to mind and when I do, I’ll put the names on my notification and then willfully mark the posts for a negative curation at a later date. Why go through all lengths just to pick fights? Well it’s pretty simple, just as a decentralized system allows you to do that fuck you want, the decentralized system can also be used against your favor. Everything has a consequence and if your greed hasn’t received one it will eventually.

The blockchain remembers. It’s not worth screwing your reputation over. Go out, engage, get involved with your niche communities and grow out of your circle. If you bitch about not getting noticed while keeping a streak of barren comments, you probably deserved it.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of how @hiveph still stands despite having an inactive community. We got quality members being pillars for the team that keep it rolling. What separates this community from the other Filipino community that tried their shot at getting traction is resilience.

The account isn’t cashing out, it gives back to the people it tries to help (this includes apathetic ingrates), and is managed by people that have a long term thinking to grow on the platform. It’s more profitable to just managed your own account, create content and do public relations than spend some time doing community building. That’s a reality but we do it anyway.
