We set @hivephcurator as one of the beneficiaries for our community posts before it's that side project being built for community use. The problem when it comes to powering down is that it takes 13 weeks, if there was a way to shorten this process, then people could take advantage of the the present market price action.
For those that are hesitant to stake their liquid Hive because of the 13 week lock but don't want to convert their Hive into fiat, they are stuck with liquid Hive that isn't passively earning them anything.
@hivephcurator will try to fix this problem by providing the delegations at 1:1. For every liquid Hive sent to the account, it will give the equivalent HP in delegation to the sender so that they can earn curation rewards. By the time you decide you want to cash out your liquid Hive, you can ask to undelegate the HP and have your liquid Hive sent back at 1:1.
What's in it for the community account? nothing. All HP accumulated by this account will be used for delegating to those that want to avail the service. All HP unused for delegation will be used for curation as the account also follows trail votes. It also earns around 2.7% APR just from passive staking. The ones who really benefit from this are the community members that want to take advantage of keeping their Hive liquid while accessing income from the curation rewards.
For now, the service isn't automated but hoping by the grace of @wittyzell it can be. It's not really at the top list of priorities to upgrade since the process can just be done manually. For added security, once we start adapting the multisig function, this would help secure the liquid Hive sent to the account. If you want to use the service, just contact the admins first since it's processed manually.
This is assuming that the account has enough HP to accommodate more users. If it only has 1000 HP, then it can only accept 1000 liquid Hive. It should never take in more liquid Hive that it can give. But the account right now is just around 100 HP and we've slowly building some stake in in. If you want to contribute to the project, setting @hivephcurator as a beneficiary helps.
All liquid HBD earned by the account will eventually be sent to @hiveph community fund. All HP acquired by the account will be locked in value for the service. For now, the HP it has isn't really something to brag about but any community account started with less until it stake grew over time. We're not really building stuff for short term gratification here.
