Celebrating National Children's Month | Sharing and Spending with Them

Hello, Hivers👋. How's everyone? Hope you are all doing fine.

The month of November is tagged as "The National Children's Month Celebration". In line with this event, WE, in the PNP Service are making this more special to the children. Today, we are giving slippers to children, lecturing their parents and some tokens. We have to mould our children and make them prepared for the upcoming. They have to be more equipped to face the challenges in life.

The Venue

We have chosen a certain Barangay in our Municipality to make a special event for the children. As we reached the venue, we prepared the things that we brought especially the slippers which we would be giving to all the children in the community.

We also displayed a tarpaulin for them to be able to know what is the purpose of our activity. It says; Healthy, Nourished, Sheltered: Ensuring the Right to Life for All! This will be the theme for this year's celebration of The National Children's Month.

The Program

The program was spearheaded by our very own Chief of Police in our municipality. We were very dedicated to this kind of activity, especially when it came to the children. He gave a lecture to the parents by giving them insights on the laws that are related to the children. For example, The Republic Act 7610 - the law that protects the child against any form of abuse, whether physical, mental or emotional abuse or psychological abuse. It also the guidance for their rehabilitation stage.

Our Chief also includes the cause and effect of the use of prohibited drugs. These are locally known as "shabu", which has a very strong impact on our society nowadays. It became the cause of criminalities and now includes minors. Youngsters are being exposed too much to the harmful events in our community.

It is very important to guide and supervise them well. Especially since technology has taken over the young minds of children. They can freely access any harmful sites on the internet world. They were too far advanced nowadays. We are advising parents to limit their children's use of gadgets. Not only it was bad for their health due to radiation but also because of being exposed to harmful things they could see through it.

They may follow what they see on the internet. Parents may be so busy in their daily lives that they overlook the possibilities it could bring to their children. Others may let their child use gadgets for them to avoid any distractions caused by their children. They may be annoyed that their children want them to spend some quality time with them. Parents and children have their reasons and that causes more misunderstanding within the family.

Spending quality time with your children can help them build more confidence and bond with the whole family. So let us guide our young people for a better future.

The next part of the program is the giving of slippers to the small ones. They were being selected due to limited sizes and resources. To make sure that the slippers fit well to them. They started to make a line and my colleague started choosing the right sizes for them.

Those genuine smiles and excitement they were showing made our hearts full. We are very happy deep inside seeing every little child happy with the little things that we share with them.

We also gave them a little token (snacks actually) that made them even more excited to fall in line (LOL). We are very happy to share things with the children.

Lastly, we gave our heartfelt thanks to the parents who joined us in today's activity. This will not be possible without their support. We would like to remind everyone to guide, support and mold their children for the betterment of their future.
