Hello there Hivers!!! It's been a while, I missed you all. I've been busy lately, so I wasn't able to update, but I'm back. How's life treating you lately? I hope you're all doing good, despite the hot weather we're experiencing right now.
I can't wait to share with you our journey at malapascua island together with my mom's classmate. My mom and her classmates decided to have a vacation trip on the malapascua island because some of their classmate lives there.
They met through tesda and formed a circle of friends. And I'm so happy that mom brought me along because my brother and my sister have classes, and I had just participated in a contest at consolacion a Division School Press Conference (DSPC) so it was okay for me to skip school the next day.
Even though I am exhausted because I had just comeback, I didn't mind it because I love exploring places, travelling specially to islands.
Just a brief explanation about Malapascua ๐๏ธ
Malapascua Islands is popular of its dive destination also it is known for its white sand, the excellent diving spot, especially the coral gardens,You also have a chance to dive with thresher sharks. It was located at northern part of Cebu specifically at Daanbantayan, Cebu.
As I was scrolling on the internet, I spotted a article about " Why is it called Malapascua and I was curious so i tapped on it. It turns out it was named because it was on Christmas day and it supposed to be special, happy occasion, full of peace. However a storm hit the island at the Christmas day so they named it Malapascua " Malas na Pasko" in English Unfortunate Christmas. It's so devastating right? knowing that such a beautiful island has a name with such a sad history is quite heartbreaking.
To get to our destination, we took a bus, a public transportation vehicle and stopped at the Bogo City, Cebu to buy some puso or "hanging rice". Then we rode a tricycle to buy for our lunch.
To get to the New maya port, we took 2 jeepney rides. After that, we rode a motorcycle to enter New Maya Port since jeepneys can't go inside.
The money we spent getting from Ilihan to the new Maya Port was over 1,000 php for both my mom and me. If you plan to visit Malapascua Island, make sure to take a Ceres/van that goes all the way to Maya Port.
We waited with my mom's friends for about 2 hours, and when they arrived, we buy tickets to go to the Malapascua. The boat fare was 200 PHP, and the travel time was approximately 25-30 minutes.
I was admiring the breath taking views, the crystal clear water and the waves, feels amazing, and the scenery moving around me. It's peaceful and exciting at the same time.
We have arrived
We passed a school when we're heading to our rooms, I noticed that their school was quite big and nice. I wanted to explore it, but sadly it was closed.
This is our room, and it's very comfortable and clean, we paid 250 per head it is discounted because it's not for a full 24 hours.
There's a swimming pool, but unfortunately,it was being cleaned and had no water.
After we put our things, we went to visit the other classmates of my mom who live here on the island.
When we arrived at their homes they were well- prepared, with red horse, and the kids were so excited to swim in the sea. They are holding their salbabida or "swimming floaters". However, when we arrived, the tide was out.
So we just enjoyed the day and had a boodle fight.
ahhh the sky looks so good, I called my mom to take a picture of me because the sky was so beautiful. Even though she hadn't finished eating, she took a picture of me without hesitation.
After our boodle fight, we went straight to the pier to just bonding and enjoy the view.
As you can see the sunset is magical right the sunset is just like our life both are beautiful and temporary, and it remind us the passing of time.
We decided to just stay here along the shore to enjoy the sunset and the sounds of the waves.
We truly enjoyed our moment here, and took a picture at the "Malapascua" sign, even though it was already night time. The moon looked beautiful right now.
I saw a kid holding a mangofloat milkshake and I was curious what it is taste like, so i bought one.
We're heading to our room, and we passed by a church and it is named "Virgen De Los Desamparadus Parish"
Before going to our rooms we explore the house of one of my mother's classmate. She has a big house and it is look good. They have a room on the second floor, where you can see the school. The moon looked beautiful, especially from their rooftop.
We returned to our rooms to have some rest and recharge ourselves, because were leaving the house early to see the sunrise . Our room had a air conditioning, also we each had our own bed.
It's morning, time to explore the island, before enjoying the beauty of the beach we must drink coffee at the Nicey burger junction.
While we were just walking to the beach taking pictures, there this one guy approached us and asked if we were interested in island hopping. We urgently said yes, because it cost us only 1,000 php good for 4 persons.
So we rushed back to our rooms to get ready because island hopping wasn't part of our plan, as it can be quite expensive. But thanks to the guy who approached us we were able to get a cheaper rate and enjoy this beautiful island.
So we headed to our boat ,and I just wore the same outfit as yesterday because we took only a few pictures yesterday.Before going island hopping, we took some pictures on the beach because it was so beautiful. I was speechless because of its beauty.
Every spot that we thought was Instagram-worthy, we took a picture of it. My mother was so supportive; she didn't hesitate to take pictures of me.
The crystal clear water, white sand, blue skies its just perfect time.

The price of the room is already such a steal, it is indeed for a very affordable price. Going on a vacation and not hurting your pockets is a good idea. I was here in the island a few years back and currently planning to come back, thank you for the recommendations and letโs all agree that Malapascua has one of the best beaches in the entire Philippines.
