So Close, Yet So Far | original poem by @joreneagustin

Amidst the room full of noise
She heard the softness of his voice
It's like whispers in the wind
That blows a peace no end.

The rhythm of his tone as he speaks,
She got the chance to hear twice a week,
It makes her wants to stare on his lips,
The urge to look but her eyes restrained from it.

Yet the moment her eyes locked into his,
She feels something like ‘you're my precise'
Exchanging their intense gazes
As she feels her heartbeat races.

The warmth of his hands
That embrace the coldness of hers,
Blushed on her cheeks
Cause redness on her face.

Memorizing each other’s souls,
She finds beauty in his flaws,
Accepting his imperfections
As she knows it’ll deepen their connections.

When she looks upon the dark of night,
She sees the star and moon in the sky,
It seems so close to see their light
Yet distance is so far from the eye.

She can't be near
No matter how close he is to her dear,
Tears fell like a river flow,
as there’s a line in between
she always know.

A weight on her chest,
Cuts in her heart,
Tears through her cheeks,
Now, she's a shattered piece of an art.

As she feels...

He is
So close yet so far.
