Hi, My name is @josephthegreat. But you can call me Joseph, and this is my introduction post here at Hive. I remember before when I was a kid, I got everything I wanted even though I had a strict mother. But when it came to my father, he gave me everything I want. Because he loved me so much as his first born. I woke up and have thoughts about our home town at General Santos (Mindanao part of Phillipines ). When i was seven years old, we went back to nearby my father's family, but still here in Mindanao, both of my parents lived in nearby of our village. This is where I experienced borrowing a rice and my aunties give us some foods.
When I was eight years old I had a sibling, even though my father would prefer a baby girl, but we were still happy and bless of my Lil brother.
Until my father got a job away from us in Tacloban City as a Security guard at Bombo Radyo, a well-known radio station here in the Phillipines, and I became my mother's assistant in caring for my brother. A kid who used to get his want became rare, but that's not a big deal to me. Really, they say pana-panahon lang yan hehe.
Our lives fine until my father went on vacation with us, and he had two heart attacks due to high blood pressure. During on his vacation, I was only nine years old that time, and my brother was two years old.
Despite on his condition, still he returned to his job because he is not used to it a farm work. Back then,Rice farming was our main source of income because we are the Rice bowl in the Phillipines. And we also owned land, but my father preferred to work as a Security guard.
When my father left, that was the last time I saw him, because when he returned, he was already in the coffin. Even though I was young, I could feel the pain losing a father. I really felt I lost an ally, a bestfriend,and a father who truly loved me.
I felt more sadness,lonely and hardship in life when my mother also left us because she also worked at the agency. she took over the worked of my father. And at that time she was pregnant with our youngest sibling. Yes, Before my father passed away, he left us a gift; his wish to have a daughter became true. But he is no longer here, but my sister she is looks exactly like him. I told my youngest sister that even if she didnt see our father, she just had look in the mirror and then she would see our fathers face. Hehe.
Since my mother left, we lived our aunt temporarily, and she also returned when she gave birth to my youngest sibling. I was still my mothers helper because i was the eldest; even though it was diffucult, I endured as long as the four of us were together.
My mother decided to leave again to work in Manila less than a year later due to the difficulties we were experiencing in life. And thats when i began to resent her, because its difficult to live without parents. Not only me need her but also my siblings. Especially since we only live with my aunts house, and there so many things I hear and experience that my parents wouldnt allow me to.
I also left my siblings in the care of my grandmother, fleeing to live with my aunts. I wanted to bring ny siblings with me, but i coudn't support them at that time. I moved from others house of my aunt to survive because I was so angry to my mother, That is why I did that.
I learn how to harvest rice in high school so that I could support myself, and my grandmother would give me money when I went to see my siblings. I refused to accept it if I knew it was from my mother.
It was time for my mom to return home. She would cry to me because I allowed my anger to fester so much, even though i missed her terribly. She apologized, but even though I was glad to see her again, I kept my excitement to myself.
Many years passed; I was influenced by my friends, and this is where I learned to drink alcohol, smoke and gamble. I got used to it before and was happy even though I knew it was wrong. This is the time I felt I need partner in life and at the age of 21, my girlfriend got pregnant, but in the same year, they were taken from me because she died when she was 8 months pregnant. She and my child did not survive.
After that, despite the difficulty, I raised myself. I applied and got variety of jobs. One of them was that I ran a sisig business while working at a company, but it went bankrupt because I neglected it because I couldn't keep up.
Even though my father died while im young and my mother went to work, she was not by our side either. And I lost both my baby and my girlfriend; it's really hard to lose someone I love. But im still grateful because I didn't give up on life, and now im Blessed with my family and a baby boy. He is the reason I changed, I quit smoking, and rarely drank. This is also when I realized they should be my top priority because i've learned a lot in the past that I shouldn't be doing now. So now my only goal in life is to be live a good life and provide a comfortable life for my family now.
I guess my life story has gotten too long; I just want to include the things I enjoy doing, hehe.
My Hobbies
Playing Basketball
One of my hobby is playing basketball. this is one of the sports that I love to play because it makes me happy and feel better every time I play. This is also where I made and met various friends.
Playing Mobile legends
One of the mobile games I enjoy playing is Mobile legends. We all know that this is the most popular game among adults and children, and I am one of those who are addicted to playing it. Im not as good as a pro players, but as a non-techy oerson, I learned to play it gradually, Even though I was unfamilliar with computer games before.
Cooking
One of the things in doing now is cooking. My hobby has been cooking since then because I have no choice? Haha joke. My mother taught me how to cook when I was a kid by asking me to help her whenever she was doing something around the house. My aunts and uncles also taught me the other skills. And one of the reasons I want to help my live-in partner now, @crstypatata, is because im not good at cleaning the house and doing laundry, so this is what I can do for her. I also want to cook for them. For her and to my baby boy, and one of the things you'll see here on my blogs.
Who introduced you at HIVE?
The one who introduced me here at Hive is my LIP now, @crstypatata. She told me about Hive and pushed me to join too here because she want to know more about me and what I can do if I write about my life. So here I am now, writing about the bad experienced I've had in life.
Why did you Join at Hive?
Actually, I really dont know how to speak English, but i understand anyway. So I joined Hive so that I could write about my life experiences, such as the ones I am currently having. This is the first time I've wriiten about my life. I realize and and Thinking now about how fav I've come And how I overcame all those trials. As if all that happended just a short time ago. I just can tell my self that it's a good thing I didn't give up Because here I am now, happy with my own family.
Writing relives a weight in my heart, and I feel like I can enjoy writing here. And also,I want to share my cooking recipes because crstypatata mentioned that I know a lot of cooking that they don't do, so I'd like to share that with Hive as well. And she told me that the people here are kind, so I hope you like my recipes and i can get to know you'll better.
