You might be wondering who this new face is here. Hi! My name is Aleyssa Quiñones, and you can call me "Lysa, Leys" or whatever you're comfortable with. I am brainy and a bit silly at the same time, haha. I'm 23 years young, and I guess I look younger than my age, especially because of my height. I am a third-year student majoring in Hospitality Management at Cebu Technological University-Danao Campus. Actually, this is not my first choice; it was either accounting or business management, but the campus doesn't offer these courses, so I chose BSHM instead.
I'm happy that I chose this course because I learned a lot about management, entrepreneurship, and many skills that the hospitality industry requires. I actually earned NCII's Certificates in Food and Beverage, Bartending, Bread and Pastry, Housekeeping, Front Office Operations, and Cookery. A lot of people criticize our course because they say it is the easiest among others, but I would tell you it is not, because we have a different field, and our field has a lot of scope. It's about the skills, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and attitude that need to be improved and controlled professionally.
I am a coffee love, my meal doesn't feel complete without it. I have a dog named "Chin²" but sadly, she passed away last month, and I was devastated at that time. I am a night person, I become active and my brain functions better at night, and I love city lights. I hate going out in daylight since it is hot outside, but when it comes to enjoying nature, I'm always in for that. I love doing spontaneous things if I want to do something or buy something, then I will, without hesitation.
I have a quirky attitude as well, I easily get drained socially. For instance, when we talk and laugh, I suddenly get tired and retreat into my own world, haha. Also, when I have an enemy, my goal is not to win, but to make my enemies more intimidated, lol.
I like staying at home and doing house chores while listening to music, and I don't like chaotic places. I'm not comfortable staying in a place if I see something messy, and yes, I am cozy yet clean. I love watching Korean dramas, jeongmal johayo! They are my therapy and comfort, wherever I am. Even though I love K-drama, I still haven't mastered their language. I just know some words, but sometimes I speak them incorrectly.
However, it doesn't matter, what matters is that I love Korean dramas.If you also love K-drama, then we can be friends, and you can ask for recommendations or vice versa. I also discovered their unique food, tried it, and it's good. I love to eat tteokbokki, kimchi, and ramyun.
I love adventuring since I am a nature lover.I enjoy experiencing nature, I love climbing mountains and discovering new things in the world of nature.I am mesmerized by nature, especially whenever I’m in the mountains, forests, and sea. My grandparents live in the mountains, so every time I want to unwind, I go there, as I also have friends there because I lived there when I was young.
I remember we liked swimming in the river and catching cute little fish, then I got a fungus on my toes, lol. My grandma didn’t allow me to go back to the river after that. I also love challenging myself, I joined the Girl Scouts, and we had activities like camping trips to test our survival skills.
We didn’t have butane or matches, and we only used stones rubbed together to create fire, which was very hard. We made gadgets not what you think, like cellphones but
inventions that were useful for us, like a washing rack and a shoe rack, from natural materials like bamboo sticks, rope, and fabric. I also made friends from our school and other schools because we had a division camp that combined at least five schools for the district camp.
I joined HIVES is not only for getting paid don't trust me, it’s the first reason, just kidding. Back then, I was planning to write a journal about my daily life and read it when I felt alone and bored. But my friend recommended this kind of blogging, posting my daily life without using AI, and I thought, "Wow, that’s nice!" I rely too much on AI, and I don’t like it because I want to improve my writing as well as my grammar, so maybe it’s time to enhance my English skills.
Why not join, right? Getting paid for sharing experiences with my ka hivers and learning from them is such a good deal. Maybe I can contribute by sharing my experiences, and I can also reflect on other experiences from my co-hivers.
I would also like to thank my friend Karla and Sir Intoy for allowing us to be his new onboardees. He was approachable, so we could ask him anything if we had inquiries. OMG we have a lot of things in common, I'm just older, haha. I identified with almost everything you tell us about yourself, but there are two things that touched my heart: I also lost my puppy last year and it still hurts. And the second thing is that I also love being in nature and I went camping. Those are the summers I remember as the happiest.
