Who wouldn't remember that the country's Independence day would be in the next few days? June 12 to be exact after regaining our freedom from Spain in 1898. If you do the math, this year is the 126th year! That fast after 333 years of colonization! Hats off to all our National Heroes who fought hard, devoted their life for our country!

And speaking about freedom, have you check Hiveph blogging contest for this month of June? There are three questions but what catches my attention was;

Bilang sine-celebrate natin ang ating kalayaan ngayong June, ano ang masasabi mo tungkol sa divorce bill?

Currently, my country Philippines is one of those who doesn't have a Divorce to nullify marriage; just Annulment. Which we all know the process takes years aside from it being expensive. It's been a long discussion between the law makers and the church religious group. I may be familiar yet don't have a mastery when it comes to LAWS so I better not discuss it. What is important now, the last time I read an update as you can read in above photo, Divorce Bill was approved in Third and Final reading by the House of Representatives. It needs to be approved by the Senate, President signature if I am correct then what? I think it will be legalized here in the next few months. Then would I be in favor?

Well, it's a big YES for me! Why?

First, nope, I am not bitter nor doesn't believe in marriage! In fact as to date I am happy and content with my marriage life.

See? My husband was so in love with me! Char!

Yet I am speaking on behalf of those trapped in a heelish, toxic life with someone they thought to live happily ever after. Tied up and bound with the law of God and state how they could leave? It was never easy to walk away if you know legally you are still connected with your partner. Aside from societies not so good comment, it also has effects in financial aspects. Imagine buying some properties, putting up business and etc. yet your spouse which you no longer live with would still be considered as Conjugal property.

Also, what if both partners had fallen out of love and found someone they wanted to be with? Both their partners could be considered as paramore even how much they claimed they are madly in love?

Those who are conservative and into traditional marriage might reason out what about the children?. Broken family is not ideal and has an effect on the kids. Yes, it may be the same in growing up with a family that doesn't have love. I believe that HOME is the great foundation, a factor that contributes as the child is growing up. So, for me it is much better for both spouses to Divorce, be in separate ways and practice healthy CO - Parenting.

It's good to see the bill has a positive chance of becoming law. Like you, I also approve of it for the same reasons you mentioned above. It could be a better solution for those who truly need it.

Thanks for the tag, by the way :) !LUV

I guess sa case sa pinas, madami mag asawa naghihiwalay na lang.. no legal process since it is expensive....meron or wala divorce, still choice parin nla kung ano masusunod..
But still better kung ma nullify ang marriage para peace of mind narin for both parties and it will be done legally.. bhla na both ano gagawin as long as hndi mapapabayaan mga naiwang anak..
But if this becomes legal, then the cost will be the next problem for Filipinos 😂. couples might end up not separating na lang haha...
Divorce is just for those with money I guess...

Pabor man o hindi marami parin naman ang naghihiwalay. Tanong jan kung afford ba ang pagdivorce dahil kung di rin naman eh useless parin naman. 😅

Coming from that hell and from a broken family, I really hope they pass this because I'd really want my mom to be free from my dad. like because of their marriage, she has a hard time owning anything because it would then be shared property. Abusado dad ko sa mga ganito. Not to mention the psychological damage we had to grow up with.

Ah thats sad to hear Banan 🥹
But yeah , imagine working so hard tapos makihati pa Ang asawa na dapat hiwalayan mo na!

And most of all, impt Ang freedom!

well hopefully mapasa na because we would like some of that freedom too
