Hello everyone!! It's me again, @lorene08, sharing my MAYmazing recap!!
In my last blog, I shared how I find the month of May to be a month full of expenses because there are so many fiestas, especially the San Remigio Fiesta. There are lots of places to visit, food stalls to enjoy, and fun activities everywhere. Today, I will be sharing some moments from May that I haven't shared before.
As I mentioned in my last blog, we also celebrate our barangay fiesta every May 30 and 31. As far as I can remember, our barangay basketball league usually starts during the last week of April. I admit that I'm not really the type of person who watches basketball games because, to be honest, I don't fully understand some of the rules. But as a supportive cousin, I still went to watch.
At first, I didn't understand much, but as time went by, I slowly learned some of the rules. My favorite part whenever I watch is actually the reactions of the people. There are lots of friendly trash talks, funny cheers from different puroks supporting their players, and let's just say I enjoy seeing some of the players getting a little ✨heated✨ during the games HAHAHAHA😭
Not only that, I also enjoy watching because I'm with my best friend Ashley and my two cousins (one of them is a basketball player, so yeah). My family and some friends were even shocked because I almost had perfect attendance at the games. Anyway, let's keep this a secret (although it's not really a secret anymore lol), but I also found a crush there😬
Break muna, guys! Let's move on to my hidden agenda and one of the things I do whenever I'm bored. It's also a side hustle for me, although it can be stressful and tiring because of all the filming. I also do affiliate marketing. I think most of you already know about that. It's on TikTok, where you create videos about products and post them with a yellow basket link.
I've been doing this since January, and honestly, my affiliate journey has been a roller coaster ride. It may look simple because all you see is filming videos and promoting products, but girl, it's actually not easy! There were times when I lost motivation because of low views, and there was even a time when I didn't make any sales for almost a week.
But then I realized that life is like that. You won't always get what you want, and not every day will be a successful day. Now, I'm still doing it, and so far, so good. I'm very grateful to the strangers on TikTok who support me, to the generous shops that approve my free sample requests, and to my very first brand collab🥰
Going back to the basketball league, I think this is one of the most unforgettable parts of my May. I met a lot of new people in our barangay. I don't know if they know me, but I like the thought that aside from my cousins, relatives, and school friends, I now know more people in our community
Now for the last part of this blog—the Bancasan Fiesta 2026!!
It's not my first time attending our barangay fiesta, but I think it was the first time I truly enjoyed it this much. Even though I didn't dance during the disco, it still felt different from the previous years.
Actually, guys, I wasn't planning to attend the fiesta on May 31 because I wasn't feeling well. I had a cough and a cold. But then I remembered that I promised my friend that I would watch her performance. The thought of breaking that promise made me feel bad, so I decided to go. Good thing I did because even though I arrived late, I still made it before their performance started.
After the TikTok dance battle between the different puroks and the awarding of the winners, we left the venue. We had a small photoshoot, visited one of our cousin's houses near the covered court, had random conversations, and before I knew it, it was already 2:00 a.m. when this girly, Lorene, finally got home!!
