What do we feel when we help others?

in Hive PH • 7 months ago

Hello 👋. How are you all doing today. It's my first time of posting on this wonderful platform and am happy to be here today.

In life there is a special kind of joy that comes from helping people. It’s not loud like a party or flashy like money, but it’s deep and warm, like sunlight on your skin after a cold day. When you help someone, no matter how small the act is giving food, listening to their worries, offering a kind word, or lifting a heavy load—you are not just fixing a problem, you are touching a heart. And when that heart feels relief, yours feels it too.

Helping others makes you feel useful. Life sometimes feels empty, like you're just waking up and doing the same things every day. But when you help someone, even in a simple way, you suddenly feel like your day had meaning. You see the smile on their face, the tears in their eyes, or the soft thank you that comes from deep inside and something in you lights up. It reminds you that you matter. That your presence makes a difference.

The joy in helping is also tied to connection. In a world where people often walk past each other without a glance, helping creates a bridge. It tells someone, "I see you. I care." Whether it’s a hungry child, a sick neighbor, or a stranger on the street, your kindness can make them feel human again. And in that moment, you’re not rich or poor, young or old—you’re just two people sharing something real.

There’s also the quiet reward of knowing you’ve made someone’s burden lighter. Life is heavy for everyone in one way or another. But when you help carry someone’s load, even for a short time, you make their path easier. That feeling stays with you. It doesn’t fade quickly like happiness from material things—it lingers, like a soft echo in your heart.

And finally, helping others makes the world better, step by step. One act of kindness can motivate another. Your simple act might encourage someone else to do the same. Before you know it, your kindness has started a chain that reaches far beyond what you can see.
Helping others is not just a duty. It’s a hidden treasure a joy that grows every time you give it away.
