Leveling Up Our Tent: Building a Better Space, Hand in Hand

Hello, lovely Hivers!

The tent we built previously was sometimes uncomfortable. When the sun was strong, the inside would get hot because the roof was low. This happened because the rope that tied the roof was blocking our way, so we had to pull it up, which made the roof sag. Our sleeping area is large enough; only the top part of the tent is the concern. So, we're planning to build a new tent that is wider , higher, and just the right size, so we can stand up easily and it won't get too hot inside.

We were so glad when one of our cousins arrived; he was able to help us build a new one. He also got the wood we needed, while my father took care of the other tools to be used. We only helped when they really needed us.

While some of us were busy building the new tent , my sisters stayed in this dome tent that our cousin brought. It wasn't as spacious as the one we were building , but it provided shelter and a place to rest while the construction continued.

Because of the unity that was shared, it was finished quickly. We also made sure we would be safe when it rained. We doubled the roof to prevent leaks , and they created a drainage ditch for the water to flow away from the tent.

I also noticed that some of our neighbors had changed spots due to the heat. And, as our tents were in close proximity, they were able to connect to our electricity. This was because we were near the house, but not sufficiently close to directly access its electrical supply, that's why we utilized multiple extensions to supply power to our tent.

Here it is, much better! It's quite a bit larger and taller than before, so it's not too hot when the sun is scorching. We also have neighbors nearby , so we're not too bored. But I really can't help but miss the people who are far away and aren't able to visit now due to the continued aftershocks. Their safety is more important now.

Also, this little hammock that our sibling hung up is very useful and relaxing. We can swing in it while looking around at the scenery, or use our cellphones while swinging , or even take a nap in this comfortable swing. There is only one, so not everyone can use it at the same time , but we understand and take turns. Understanding is also a must, especially in the situation we are currently facing.

I'm happy seeing that you all are safe despite the continuing aftershock. Just don't forget to pray and be thankful that God didn't allow that there something bad happened to us.

Yes Ging, keep safe there also.
